Prince Harry is about to turn 40 but has revealed he has already received the “best gift” of his life in his children.

The Duke of Sussex will reach the milestone on September 15 and reportedly has big plans for the day.

But his his representative told People magazine that he will not receive anything better than the gift of fatherhood.

“The best gift I've ever been given is, without doubt, my kids,” he said.

“I enjoy watching them grow every single day and love being their dad.”

According to People, a publication that is well-connected to the Sussexes , he is "focused on enjoying life" with his family after "years of self-reflection”.

How will Prince Harry celebrate his birthday?

According to People, the prince will celebrate on a low-key basis at his £11m property in Montecito , California , with his wife, Meghan , and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

It was stated by Hello! that he would go on a “weekend getaway” in the Highlands with his closest friends, but People said this would be “followed by a gathering with close friends internationally”.

Later this month, the Prince is also scheduled to visit New York City alone in order to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives”, according to his team.

The scheduled dates are September 23 to 27 for the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and September 22 to 29 for Climate Week.

According to Hello! , the Duke and Duchess are also considering a trip to Africa as part of their third "quasi-royal tour" that they hope to go on before the year ends.

The Duke of Sussex will also inherit a £4m fund as a bequest from the late Queen Mother .

Of the funds set aside for all of Elizabeth's great-grandchildren, the Duke of Sussex will receive his portion on his birthday.

The Prince received the first portion of his share of the £19m inheritance between him and his brother, William, when he turned 21 in 2005.

William turned 40 in 2022 and Harry will now take the rest of the £8m that was not taken by his brother.
