You're better off using the EA FC 25 web app this year to get a head start on the game's Ultimate Team mode EA Sports

EA Sports FC 25 ’s Ultimate Team mode doesn’t have to stop when you turn off your console or PC.

As any veteran player will tell you, a great way to keep building out your squad is to use the game’s companion app.

The web and mobile sidekick lets you rip open card packs, complete the latest challenges, and manage your team on the go. You know, all the admin work that keeps you from grinding through those games you need to play.

Getting the hang of it should free you up to express your skills on the pitch, with the help of all those footy stars you’ve hopefully unlocked.

With just days to go till EA FC 25 arrives, EA has announced when you’ll be able to get the web and mobile versions of the app, which gets a refresh every year to get it match-ready.

This time round, it’s dropping slightly later than usual. The web app will launch first on Thursday, September 19, giving players the chance to build out their Ultimate Team before the game is released.

It will be followed by the companion app for smartphones on Friday, September 20, which is the same day that EA FC 25 early access kicks off.

Unlike previous years , when players got a two-day head start on Ultimate Team via the web app, this time they’ll only get an extra day.

What can you do on the companion app?

As such, players will have less time to build their dream squad and gain a competitive edge before early access commences.

This also means fewer opportunities to scoop potential bargains on the transfer market before the full game kicks off – though it can take a couple of days or more to unlock this feature, anyway.

EA has revealed that early access will include a Team of the Week 1, player of the month SBSs, special evolutions and more. (EA Sports)

With less time to trade players and complete objectives, you may wind up with less coin to spend on more valuable packs when the game does eventually launch on September 27.

On the bright side, at least the app isn’t launching after early access. Plus, you should get all the perks that come with using the web and companion apps, such as the ability to tick off all those mundane tasks that can hamper the amount of time you have left over to play actual matches.

EA has also confirmed that an EA FC 25 Team of the Week 1 squad will be available when the early access period begins, which will also be accessible through the companion app.

While that sought-after collection of players hasn’t been revealed yet, it is expected to include England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, Barcelona’s 17-year-old wunderkind Lamine Yamal, and Al-Ittihad’s Karim Benzema, among others.

Finally, those coming back from Ultimate Team 24 will be greeted with returning user rewards.
