Jonathan Anderson is fashion’s darling, behind his own London-based label JW Anderson and mastermind of Spanish label, and jewel of LVMH’s crown, Loewe. Since 2017, he has been designing collections for Uniqlo, saying: “we have to democratise fashion.” Key pieces over the years have become wardrobe staples of the best dressed industry insiders — so do take note.

His autumn winter 2024 collection, out in the UK on 10 October, “draws its inspiration from the beauty of seaside landscapes,” reads a statement. “Elements of British classic clothing and traditional fishermen's garb have been updated for the modern everyday wardrobe. There is a sophistication and rugged quality to the pieces.” Look out for the padded trench coats, ombré knits, and lovely “heattech” logo socks.

    (Stenströms)

Mathias le Fèvre, the model, actor and ever-so-well-dressed gent in London’s social scene, has worked with Swedish-favourite Stenströms on a dapper menswear collection that is a vintage lover's dream. “It goes without saying, I am a huge fan of the seventies,” le Fèvre said, talking through his collection which ranges from ruffle shirts (“stolen from Jagger”) to patterned, merino sweater vests and textured roll necks in a muted, stoney palette. They make for fantastic autumn winter men's dressing options. A personal touch? “My grandmother was a painter who was not celebrated enough in her own time, so we used her paintings on the scarves, and some handkerchiefs,” he said.

"We love how Mathias interprets Stenströms," continued Peter Jüriado, Stenströms’ head of menswear. "He captures Stenströms [which turns 125 this year] through a modern lens.”

    Harry Lambert x Zara

    (Harry Lambert for Zara)

The stylist behind Harry Styles and Emma Corrin’s best looks is back with his second Zara collaboration, following the success of his “Cutie Chaos” drop last November. For 2024, Lambert continues from where he left off with a “Cutie Circus” capsule that has amble statement pieces for light-hearted dressers. The child-like stripes are great — striped, long sleeve t-shirts are good quality with a hugging fit — while his slogan tees (“free popcorn” and “kissing booth”) are easy ways to add joy to outfits of all genders. Also go for the great, zip up jackets, a number of oversized suits and the odd jaunty sweater vest.

“First and foremost, the items all share in creating a sense of joy inspired by the way places like a circus, the seaside or a rollercoaster-packed theme park evoke such a feeling,” Lambert says.

    Georgia Medley x Marina Raphael

    (Georgia Medley x Marina Raphael)

Celebrity-favourite stylist Georgia Medley (Michaela Coel, Jada Pinkett Smith, et al) has launched her own set of handbags with Marina Raphael, out now. “I was drawn to ombré snake and crocodile effect,” she says, and they are big enough to use. “A bag should not only elevate your look but also serve its purpose through a busy day.”

As for Medley’s advice when it comes to bag shopping, she offers: “I focus on a few essential qualities: practicality, timelessness, and versatility. A bag should not only elevate your look but also serve its purpose through a busy day. I’m drawn to unique colour palettes that effortlessly complement a range of outfits — something fresh yet adaptable, transitioning seamlessly from casual to more refined ensembles. The ideal handbag strikes a balance between being a chic statement piece and an everyday essential, enhancing personal style while remaining enduring and timeless.”

They are an investment, but a sure showstopper at any evening events.
