First came Kate Moss for Topshop ; now the supermodel is designing “the perfect party capsule” for Zara.

In what will no doubt grow to become a tidal moment for dressing up during festive bash season 2024, Moss said in a statement this morning: “I’ve enjoyed working with Zara on campaigns over the years and always loved their collaborations so when Marta [Ortega] and I first talked about this project I was excited…getting to design clothes again and work with Katy England.” England is a stylist and longtime collaborator of Lee Alexander McQueen’s.

She continued: “pieces that feel effortlessly chic but with an edge. Mixing classic cuts with just the right amount of glam to take you through the party season.”

The only other details shared in a statement from the Spanish fast fashion company was that the collaboration “comprises ready to wear and accessories” and is available to buy from November 30, 2024.

It follows a string of chic capsule coups at Zara. Most recently, these have included lines designed by Stefano Pilati, the esteemed designer at Yves Saint Laurent from 2004 to 2012, Harry Styles' stylist Harry Lambert , and the photographer Steven Mesiel.

Of course, bagging the Croydon girl who changed nineties fashion and remains on every designer moodboard, bedroom wall and phone screensaver today, will be met with a more insatiable appetite.

In 2014, as she launched the last of her wildly successful Kate Moss for Topshop collections, which started in 2007, she hollered "I just want everyone to find something from the collection that they love... this is mental" to baying fans. Over summer, a decade later, the same high street designs became collectable once again, rising to become an unexpected style staple of the summer as younger generations scoured Vinted and Depop for surviving pieces.

What will she make for Zara? In a similar to vein to the way Sienna Miller riffed on her boho, Chloé look for an M&S collection earlier this year, Moss will likely stick close to the monochrome, Saint Laurent she favours when partying. The singular picture released today, which sees Moss hair tousled in a a dark, demure and black tie appropriate frock, speaks to as much.

So that yellow Topshop dress? Not likely. But you can count down the days for this party seasons hottest set of LBDs.
