Detectives have issued an urgent appeal after gunshots were fired outside a nightclub in West Kensington.

Witnesses reported hearing shots fired after a verbal altercation involving a group outside a nightclub in Russell Gardens at around 4am on Sunday.

One witness told the Standard that an argument broke out within minutes of the unnamed nightclub closing.

He explained that a man shot into the air during the argument “possibly to scare” people.

He said: “It was just the one guy. [During] some argument he shot up in the air. There was no fighting or a big mess. One guy went crazy.

“There was arguing and shouting. The venue had closed the door 10 minutes before. It happened in a few minutes after the people left. It was a big argument with big shouting.”

The Met Police said all those involved left the scene before officers arrived.

Police attended the scene and during a search of the location, casings were found.

A crime scene remains in place while the police investigations continue.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw events unfold, or anyone who has information that could assist police, to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD1158/13Oct. You can also provide information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
