In the midst of the humidity happening across the SouthCoast it seems a little early to be thinking about fall, but it will be here before we know it.
And you know what that means — fall festivals.
It's that time of year that brings out all the warm and fuzzy vibes of autumn, with events taking place all season long.
Autumn has no shortage of great food, community engagement, and fantastic entertainment sprinkled with a hint of pumpkin spice.
From beer sampling and food trucks to seafood delights, get ready to fill your calendars with these upcoming local events:
Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8: A weekend full of amazing music and fun, all to benefit A Wish Come True. Saturday entertainment is The Guise, Paul Petit & The Classic Double Shot Band, Shot in the Dark, and Pink Granite. Sunday’s performances will be Louie Leeman & Cheap Sneakers, All Horn’d Up, and Wild Nites. $20 per day donation and kids 12 and under are free.

Friday, Sept. 13: Bring summer to an end with a bang while supporting the SouthCoast Community Foundation. The night will be brimming with indulgent foods, yummy cocktails, and live music by GQ & the Lady . It will have passed Hors d'oeuvres, hot food stations, a Cuttyhunk Oysters & Clams Raw Bar, and libations. Tuesday, Sept. 17: Celebrate the bounty of the sea while overlooking the waterfront. Chefs from around the area will be preparing dishes featuring fresh seafood and seasonal ingredients with dozens for you to try. The night will feature a “Fluke and Flounder” chance auction, live music from Manny Escobar, and more. Saturday, Sept. 21: For a day of lively music, delightful food, crafts, and plenty of fun. All ages are welcome with free admission. Don’t miss the pig roast or performances by Jake Hunsinger & the Rockbottom band, Nick Bosse and the Northern Roots, and The Liz Spencer Band.

Saturday, Sept. 21: This 21-plus event is your chance to have an adult night out and raise money for Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. You will get to taste-test unlimited samples from local breweries and wineries and order delectable bites from food trucks at the event. For $55 you get admission to the zoo, a souvenir sampling glass, beer and wine samples, and entertainment by Brian Duchaney Music and A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac. Friday, Sept. 27: Head over to this 21-plus evening full of great food from local businesses. You get to sample fantastic bites from area restaurants and eateries with a cash bar from Harper Lane Brewery. There are raffles and specialty items on sale from participating food vendors. Saturday, Oct. 5: Help raise money for at-risk youth and education along the SouthCoast. There will be entertainment by Craig DeMelo, Autumn Drive, Off Kilter, Morrissey Boulevard, and 7 Day Weekend. Entry tickets are $15 presale and $20 at the door. Food trucks and local vendors will be on hand to buy your delicious food and drinks.

Saturday, Oct. 12: It’s that time again to try chowders from local restaurants and cast your vote for the best one. Sample chowders and soups, listen to live music by Be Kind, Rewind and enjoy the community vibe.
