Acushnet Apple Peach Fair is this weekend. Here's what to know before you go.

ACUSHNET -- As summer comes to an end, it's time to welcome autumn with the Acushnet Apple Peach Fair and Pageant . Celebrating its 43rd year, this festival is a popular event for families, friends and community members to enjoy and honor local farming.

The Acushnet Apple Peach Fair will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be held at Long Plain Museum, 1203 Main St., Acushnet.

As the Acushnet community comes together to celebrate the change of seasons and show their support for local businesses, the Apple Peach Fair and Pageant is a must-visit event.

What to know before you arrive

Free parking and admission are available.

Be sure to bring cash for food and any crafts you may want to purchase. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing for walking around the fairgrounds.

Guests can also avoid the hassle of parking and take advantage of the shuttle bus from Acushnet Middle School.

Entertainment to expect at the festival

With a wide variety of entertainment, there is something for everyone at the Acushnet Apple Peach Fair. On Saturday, enjoy performances by Sharon's Student Showcase, Gary Langevin, and more.

Sunday's lineup includes Gonsalves Tai Kwon Do, All Along, and other talented musicians. Make sure to check out the full schedule to plan your visit.

The fair is known for its great food and unique craft vendors. You can find delicious apple and peach themed treats, as well as other local foods to try. And don't forget to browse the craft vendors for one-of-a-kind items to take home.

What to know about the parade

The festival will feature a parade on Sunday, Sept, 8 at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Pope Park and go along Main Street to the fairgrounds.

The pageant is set for Sept. 6

On Friday, Sept. 6, the Miss Apple Peach pageant will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Ford Middle School. Watch local contestants compete for the title of Miss Apple Peach. Tickets are available at the door for $15, or $10 for students.
