    Vote for the SouthCoast High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Sept. 16-22

    The winner for last week’s SouthCoast Boys Athlete of the Week poll was Old Rochester's Emile Joseph. Joseph received more than 600 votes (34%) to earn the honor.

    Joseph had four saves against Apponequet to earn his second straight shutout.

    The previous winner was Dartmouth's Niall Fogarty.

    Here's your chance to vote for the top high school performance among SouthCoast male athletes from Sept. 16-22 .

    (Editor's Note: Voting will end on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m.)

    Here’s a look at last week’s top performers (listed in alphabetical order by school):

    BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

    Luca Rubini, Apponequet

    Rubini took first for Apponequet against GNB Voc-Tech.

    Lowell Copps, Bishop Stang

    Copps took first against Arlington Catholic and St. Mary’s with a time of 14:22 over 2.6 miles.

    Jared Mendonca, Dartmouth

    Mendonca took first for Dartmouth against Old Rochester with a time of 17:30.

    VOTE: Football Player of the Week for Week 3

    BOYS SOCCER

    Tommy Smith, Apponequet

    Smith scored the lone goal for Apponequet in a 1-1 tie with GNB Voc-Tech.

    Josh Snyder, Apponequet

    Snyder made nine saves in a 1-1 tie with Voc-Tech.

    Jake Fernandes, Bishop Stang

    Fernandes recorded back-to-back shutouts against Falmouth Academy and Cardinal Spellman.

    Dino Psichopaidas, Bishop Stang

    In two games, Psichopaidas had a combined two goals.

    Logan Stott, Bishop Stang

    Stott scored a pair of goals in Stang’s win over Falmouth Academy.

    Blake Christopher, Fairhaven

    Christopher had a combined 29 saves in a pair of games for the Blue Devils.

    Davi Coelho, Old Colony

    In a win over Norfolk Aggie, Coelho had two goals and one assist.

    Landon Hunter, Old Colony

    Hunter had a combined seven goals and four assists in two games for the Cougars.

    Grady Oliveira, Old Rochester

    Oliveira had a game-high three goals in a win over West Bridgewater.

    GOLF

    Aidan Connell, Apponequet

    Connell shot a 45 to edge out Dighton-Rehoboth’s seventh best golfer by five strokes to give the Lakers the win.

    Matt Oliviera, Bishop Stang

    Oliveira shot a 36 against Old Rochester and a 37 against Bishop Feehan.

    Jeremiah Matos, Bishop Stang

    Matos carded a season-low 37 against Bridgewater-Raynham. He also carded a 39 against Old Rochester.

    Calvin Downing, Fairhaven

    Downing shot a 39 against New Bedford and a 37 against Bourne.

    Peter le Gassick, Old Rochester

    Le Gassick shot a 33 against Bishop Stang and a 37 against Somerset Berkley.

    Luke Pierre, Old Rochester

    Pierre shot a season-low 33 against Bishop Stang and had 37s against Somerset Berkley and Case.
