The following was submitted by Kim McGowen, annual giving officer for Stanly Health Foundation, host of Stanly County’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

As anticipation builds for the 12th annual Dancing with the Stars event supporting Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, two more remarkable participants are ready to take the stage: Allison Hudson Mingle and Corey-Beth (CB) Travaglini.
Mingle is a devoted community advocate with deep roots in her hometown of Albemarle.
A 1997 graduate of AHS, Allison furthered her education at The College of Charleston, graduating in 2002. She later lived in Boston and San Francisco before returning to North Carolina, where she met her husband, a US Army Special Operations soldier. The couple now resides in Albemarle, raising their two children.
In 2017, Allison founded Will’s Place Recovery Resource Center, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families battling addiction in Stanly and surrounding counties. Through Will’s Place, Allison works tirelessly to reduce barriers, combat stigma and offer support on the journey to sobriety. She is also the owner of Rise Yoga, promoting wellness and mindfulness within the community.
Allison’s dedication extends to her role on the board of the Stanly County Partnership for Children and her involvement with West Albemarle Baptist Church.
Travaglini is a Charlotte native who now calls Oakboro home, alongside her husband, Nick, and their three children: John (12), Natalie (10), and Thomas (9).
A graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, CB was known for her social, athletic and cheerleading activities. After high school, she enlisted in the USAF, serving for four years, including a tour at Osan Air Base in South Korea, where she co-coached a middle school dance team.
CB currently serves as the community outreach coordinator for Will’s Place and teaches yoga with Rise Yoga in Albemarle.
She is passionate about inspiring others and infusing enthusiasm into her community. When not working or teaching yoga, CB enjoys making memories with her family, embarking on adventures and engaging in creative projects.
Allison and CB’s participation in this year’s Dancing with the Stars event highlights their dedication to their community and their commitment to supporting the Butterfly House. Their efforts help to provide vital services to children and families in need, aligning with their shared values of community support and wellness.
The Dancing with the Stars event will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center. This year’s theme, “Magic of Motown,” promises an evening of soulful music and captivating dance performances. With 11 dance teams perfecting their routines and engaging in creative fundraising efforts, the night is set to be a spectacular celebration of talent and philanthropy.
Tickets are now available, and the community is encouraged to come out and support Allison, CB, and all the participants as they dance for a cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, providing essential services to children and families in need.
