SCS employee wins Charlie Adams Distinguished Service Award

Beverly Pennington, center, received the Charlie Adams Distinguished Service Award for Region 6 on Tuesday from Que Tucker, right, executive director of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. She is joined by her son, Dr. Ross Pennington. The award is presented by the NCHSAA annually to one individual in each region with at least 10 years of experience in education and athletics who is still active in the field and has regularly gone “above and beyond” the call of duty.
