    Cleveland County Fair kicks off this week

    The Cleveland County Fair will kick off its 100 th season this week.

    Here’s what fairgoers should know before opening night Thursday:

    When

    The fair will be open from Thursday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Oct. 6.

    Gates are open from 3 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 11 pm. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

    Where

    The Cleveland County Fair is located at 1751 E. Marion St., Shelby. Parking is free.

    Tickets

    Advance admission tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Armbands are available for purchase for fair rides, and many concessions are sold.

    Details

    To commemorate the 100 th year, the fair will host traditional and new events.

    There will be the demolition derby, rodeo, drone and fireworks shows, livestock competitions and of course the waterwheel and exhibit halls.
