    HS Football Week 5: Vestal, Elmira, Norwich, Chenango Forks win big

    Julian Adams ran for 121 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries Friday night as Vestal topped visiting Binghamton, 49-12, at Dick Hoover Stadium.

    Adams scored on runs of 6, 2, 3 and 21 yards to help the Golden Bears improve to 3-3. Binghamton is now 1-4.

    Vestal quarterback Josh Kweller topped 100 passing yards for the sixth time this season, hitting 12 of 17 attempts for 128 yards and two touchdowns.

    One of the TDs was a 9-yard strike to J.T. Gannon, who set a program record by catching his 13th career touchdown. Gannon topped Matt Gordon's record a week after becoming Vestal's career leader in receiving yards.

    Jace Gannon added a 21-yard touchdown catch for Vestal just before intermission as the Bears took a 35-6 halftime lead with a string of touchdowns late in the half.

    Also for Vestal, Daniel Castro contributed a 6-yard TD run; Michael Hogan set up two Bears scores with an interception and recovery of an inside kick; and Preston Antesburger went 7-for-7 on extra points.

    Express strikes early, rolls past U-E

    Elmira scored on its opening drive and added a safety minutes later on the way to a 47-0 home victory over Union-Endicott in football Friday night.

    Breyan Brooks started the scoring for the Express (3-2) with a 1-yard touchdown run, his first of three TDs on the night.

    Marcus Brooks, Julian Colon and Daeshaun Harris also had TDs for Elmira. Zach Conklin threw a touchdown pass.

    Ta'hjay Molina-Bacome sacked Union-Endicott's quarterback in the end zone to give Elmira a 10-0 advantage.

    U-E fell to 0-6.

    Norwich rides 34-point first half to win

    Braden Hagenbuch ran for 205 yards, and Steven Dowdall had more than 200 combined yards passing and rushing as Norwich (4-2) built a 34-6 halftime lead Friday on the way to a 41-6 win over Oneonta (2-4).

    Hagenbuch's big day came on 17 carries. He scored on runs of 9 and 24 yards.

    Dowdall completed 8 of 11 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns. He added 68 rushing yards on nine carries, with touchdown runs of 15 yards and 1 yard.

    Norwich's Kasson Stubbs caught six passes for 105 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown. Zack Parker had the other touchdown catch, from 29 yards out.

    Chase Jarvis hit Lukas Weaver for a 50-yard touchdown to provide Oneonta's points. Jarvis completed 15 of 27 passes for 206 yards. Grayson Brockington was his top target, with seven catches for 89 yards.

    Paske throws four TDs for Chenango Forks

    Sam Paske tossed four touchdowns Thursday night as Chenango Forks cruised to a 35-7 road victory over Chenango Valley.

    Forks led 28-0 in improving to 5-1.

    Paske threw three touchdowns in the first half: 16 yards to Brysen Fry, 39 yards to Finn Stark and 21 yards to Lucas Bartlow. He added an 18-yard touchdown to Tate Bender midway through the third quarter for a 35-0 lead.

    Forks’ other touchdown came on an 18-yard run from Stark to open the scoring.

    Walton's Walley rushes for 284 yards

    Darrin Walley ran for 284 yards and six touchdowns on 32 carries Friday night to help Walton down Susquehanna Valley, 54-32.

    Walley's touchdowns included runs of 99 and 74 yards.

    Corbin Walley added a 91-yard TD run for Walton (3-3).

    It was also a night of big plays for Susquehanna Valley (2-3). Quarterback Maddox Kopko threw TD passes of 92 and 58 yards to Aiden Howard and hit Jesse Frear for touchdowns of 74 and 72 yards.

    Kopko completed 10 of 22 passes for 354 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Frear had five catches for 204 yards, and Howard's three receptions produced 145 yards. Frear added 46 rushing yards on six carries.

    Moravia stops Edison's winning streak

    Moravia (3-1) was too much for Thomas A. Edison (2-3) in an eight-man contest Friday, prevailing 42-18 to stop the Spartans' two-game winning streak.

    The Spartans' offense continued its strong play with 353 total yards. Greg Golden ran for 83 yards on 16 rushes, Jace Shiller had 70 yards on 11 carries and Reyes McAtee contributed 49 yards on nine rushes.

    TAE quarterback Andrew Slaven hit 6 of 24 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. Shiller was 2-for-4 for 60 yards and a TD. Paxton Hoover topped Edison with seven tackles, followed by Mason Mawhir with six.

    Schuyler Storm QB throws for 236 yards in loss

    Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour's Hunter Mowry completed 15 of 30 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night in a 47-26 loss to Lansing. The Schuyler Storm fell to 1-4.

    Mowry threw TDs to Quacey Wilt, Caydin Lagramada and Nick D'Alleva. D'Alleva caught four passes for 67 yards and Lagramada snared three for 63 yards.

    Lansing (4-2) led 41-12 after three quarters and intercepted four Mowry passes.
