If you’d to sit in luxury by the ocean while watching expert golfers, then this $17.5 million South Carolina home is for you.

Found at 14 Ocean Course Drive on Kiawah Island, the amazing seaside estate was recently listed by Ellen Walkley of Kiawah Island Real Estate . The 9,057 square-foot home, which features six beds, six baths and an elevator, is sited on the 13th hole of Pete Dye’s world-renowned Ocean Course. The legendary golf course is home to the 1991 Ryder Cup, the 2012 and 2021 PGA Championships — and will be the site of the 2031 PGA Championship.

“It boasts breathtaking views of golf green, fairways, whitecaps edging the vast Atlantic, tranquil marsh, and the sky-reflecting waters of Ibis Pond,” the listing states.

The home’s shingle-style exterior includes a slate roof, Dutch gambrel rooflines, copper roof turret and grand brick chimneys. A beautiful pool and spa overlooking the views, a barrel-vaulted entry porch and an entry fountain further accent the residence.

The home features a spectacular terrace made of bluestone on the first floor, as well as a columned, shiplap-ceiling porch that wraps around the rear to offer endless views. A covered kitchen with built-in grill is located within reach of two outdoor dining areas.

Two additional balconies grant spectacular fourth-story ocean and golf views.

French oak floors can be found throughout the home. Inside is also extensive paneling of reclaimed and fine-quality cypress and chestnut wood, custom wood ceilings and several fireplaces. The foyer has a grand staircase that spirals up with stairs of deep-stained wood.

The game room features walls of reclaimed cypress paneling from eastern North Carolina, a billiards table beside windows providing sunny views of the golf course and ocean, as well as a windowed full bar with upholstered seating for four.

In the high-ceilinged west wing, visitors can find four private guest suites. A glass door in the adjacent hall opens to a spacious guest porch, one side of which overlooks the bubbling waters of the estate’s entry fountain.

On the first level of the home is the children’s suite with four ship-ready bunk beds and bath with twin sinks. Head up one floor of the grand staircase to find the main living spaces. The spacious living room also opens to the foyer and has two separate sitting areas, a stone fireplace mantel and walls of nearly floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows that showcase the stunning views and leads to the second-story porch.

The living room opens to the main dining room, which features its own wall of glass doors and windows. Another wide opening takes you into the estate’s large kitchen, complete with a center island topped in Calacatta Gold marble. A sidebar with a prep sink and desk space overlooks the Ocean Course and the sea. Chef-grade appliances are included.

In the west wing is a magnificent wood-paneled library for reading or movie nights. The library’s walls are made of reclaimed chestnut wood once used in a 19th century Pennsylvania bank. There’s also a stone fireplace, game table and desk of tortoiseshell and leather.

On the home’s top level is the large primary suite, which stretches out over 2,000 square feet. The home’s best views can be enjoyed from this room’s desk. Meanwhile, there’s a vaulted wood-beamed ceiling over the primary bedroom, along with glass doors in its bay-window wall that open to a private top-floor balcony to view the Atlantic.
