    Could you work with bats? Check out these new, interesting SC job listings

    The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire a wildlife biologist to survey bats that roost under highways and bridges.

    The job pays between $38,985 and $72,134 a year, according to the listing on SCWorks . It is one of about 400 South Carolina jobs posted in the past few days.

    The wildlife biologist would work with the South Carolina Department of Transportation to basically figure out a way to keep the 11 bat species that live in the state off their structures and inside culverts.

    The listing says the job involves handling bats, conducting acoustic surveys, and testing guano.

    The job requires a master’s degree in biology, chemistry or related technical area field or a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, wildlife management or related technical area and two years of experience relevant to the job.

    Familiarity with bats is preferred, the listing says.

    A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a scientific area is required as is professional registration. At least six years experience in civil engineering is required as well.

    The State Law Enforcement Division is looking for a forensic technician to handle DNA casework. The salary is $42,000 a year.

    The job requires a bachelor’s degree in biological, chemical or forensic science and a basic understanding of DNA scientific analysis.

    Among the duties is determining the order cases are analyzed and to receive, document, inventory, transport, preserve, and return items of evidence.

    The successful candidate would testify about test results in court.

    Previous work in a lab is preferred.

    Field Service Technician at Reeves Construction Company, a Colas USA subsidiary in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida founded in 1955.

    The company offers highway and site development for airports, bridges, and the military.

    The job calls for organizing meetings, logistics, events and preparing documents.

    Part of the job involves reconditioning, repairing and assembling machines/industrial equipment, diagnosing problems and performing all service tasks as assigned by the shop foreman. Workdays sometimes involve 12 hour shifts and weekend work.

    An associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or a minimum of two years related experience is required.

    Servpro is looking for a production manager for property disaster restoration.

    The job involves evaluating what work needs to be done and creating an estimate, coordinating crews and documenting the work done.

    The job requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to travel locally.

    The pay was not listed, but benefits include 401(k), bonus based on performance, dental, vision and health insurance and paid time off.
