    Vote for The State’s Midlands high school volleyball Player of the Week: Sept. 10 poll

    It’s time to vote in our first poll for The State’s high school volleyball Player of the Week from Midlands-area schools and matches played from Sept. 2-7.

    Voting ends Friday at 1 p.m., and the winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter/X page that afternoon.

    Below are the nominees and the poll, and you can vote as many times as you like. (Remember that this poll is not scientific and meant to be just for fun.)

    To nominate a player, coaches must email Lou Bezjak at lbezjak@thestate.com by Tuesdays at noon.

    This week’s nominees

    Addie Bittner, North Central: The senior outside hitter had 97 kills, 55 digs, 14 aces, two blocks and a .338 hitting percentage in helping the Knights to a win in the Northside Christian tournament.

    Haley Freeman, Northside Christian: The senior North Greenville commitment had 61 kills, eight aces and three blocks last week.

    Riley Lyons, Blythewood: The sophomore middle hitter/blocker had 15 kills, .455 hitting percentage, 10 blocks, six aces and three digs last week.

    Taylor Macon, Ridge View: The senior middle hitter had 17 kills, six digs, five aces and four blocks last week.

    Aliva Martin, Ben Lippen : The senior had 48 kills, 54 digs, seven aces and a .315 hitting percentage in six matches last week.

    McKenna Miller, Cardinal Newman: The junior outside hitter had 52 kills, .367 hitting percentage, five blocks and six aces in seven matches last week.

    Caroline Tucker, River Bluff: Junior outside hitter had 22 kills, .205 hitting percentage and 16 digs in two matches last week.
