Breakfast spot Biscuitville will open a third location in the Columbia area. Here’s where

Heads up, Irmo. The biscuits are coming.

Biscuitville Fresh Southern, long a staple in some Southern states, will open a new restaurant at 10605 Broad River Road in Irmo. That’s near the intersection of Dutch Fork Road and Broad River. An opening date for the Irmo Biscuitville has not been announced, but construction was ongoing when a reporter rode by Wednesday morning and signage for the business has gone up.

Long a favorite in North Carolina and Virginia, Biscuitville has made a push into South Carolina in the last couple of years. This will be the third Biscuitville location in the Midlands, following openings at 2715 Clemson Road and 7924 Garners Ferrry Road in Columbia.

The first Biscuitville store opened in 1975 in Danville, Virginia, per Biscuitville’s website . By the late 1970s there were eight locations open, including in North Carolina. The company now has more than 70 locations across Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. In 2022 it opened a 78,000-square-foot distribution center in Burlington, N.C.

Biscuitville’s menu includes, as you’d expect, a host of biscuit sandwiches, including the bacon, egg and cheese; the spicy chicken and honey biscuit; the ultimate country ham biscuit and many others.

The area of Broad River Road and Dutch Fork Road in Irmo continues to grow and add new businesses. For instance, a new Whataburger — the first in the Midlands — opened at 1189 Dutch Fork Road on Sept. 9 , and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe recently opened at 1180 Dutch Fork Road. A new Wendy’s is currently under construction at 10601 Broad River Road, next door to the coming Biscuitville.
