South Carolina football hosted ESPN’s “College GameDay” for the first time in 10 years Saturday morning ahead of its noon game versus LSU.

Here’s who the show’s pundits and USC women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley picked to win:

    Dawn Staley: South Carolina

Staley, of course, picked South Carolina.

It’s Dylan Stewart’s birthday, she said, and LaNorris Sellers’ team. The fans won’t let us down, she said. Gamecocks “by two touchdowns!”

Before making her main pick, Staley threw some shade to Missouri by picking Boston College to beat the Tigers.

    Nick Saban: LSU

Former Alabama football head coach Saban said he likes how South Carolina looked last week. But he felt this LSU team was “more talented” and would “find itself” this weekend.

But before sharing his predictions, Saban revealed a new strategy courtesy of his granddaughter, who was giving him grief last weekend about picking losing teams: “Whichever team you think is gonna win, pick the other guy.”

    Pat McAfee: South Carolina

McAfee waxed poetic about the city of Columbia and, emphatically, picked the Gamecocks

“Spurs up in this damn place!”

    Desmond Howard: LSU

Howard predicted that LSU would play a “clean” game, avoiding turnovers that have plagued South Carolina’s two previous opponents this season. So he picked the Tigers.

    Kirk Herbstreit: No opinion

Because Herbstreit is calling the South Carolina-LSU game, he declined to offer a prediction .

Game commentators, like the rest of sports media, are supposed to cover games in a neutral manner. Herbstreit has attributed his no-pick practice to ESPN management in the past, telling co-star McAfee during last year’s Duke’s Mayo Classic show “they tell me I’m not allowed to.”

    Lee Corso: LSU

Corso pointed out that South Carolina has lost to LSU seven times in a row and was showered with boos when he put on Mike the Tiger’s head in front of Sir Big Spur.
