Buist Academy for Advanced Students is the first multi-year recipient of the Blue Ribbon, first earning the honor in 2017.

“Being named a National Blue Ribbon School reflects our unwavering devotion to providing an exceptional education and fostering a supportive learning environment for all our students,” Buist Principal Shawntay White said in a press release .

    Blue Ribbon goals

The goals of the program are to shine a spotlight on the best schools in the U.S. and to share best practices, the department states. Each year, the Department of Education works with state departments of education to identify and nominate outstanding schools based on student academic achievement measures and progress toward closing achievement gaps.

What is the racial makeup of these schools? I would be surprised if the academic magnet school had 30 Black students.
