Deal hunters have a date to circle for a new discount store in Cayce.

Five Below, the popular brand that has locations across the U.S., will open a new store in the Parkland Plaza shopping center off Knock Abbott Drive in Cayce, just west of Columbia. The grand opening will be Friday, Oct. 11, according to a release from commercial real estate firm Colliers South Carolina.

“Five Below will be a great addition to the Cayce and downtown Columbia community,” Colliers South Carolina’s Rox Pollard said in a statement. “It will occupy the vacancy left by Jewelry Warehouse and further enhance the many offerings that Parkland Plaza provides for the community.”

There are more than 1,200 Five Below locations in the U.S . Other Midlands outposts include a store off Harbison Boulevard in Columbia, another one on Two Notch Road in northeast Columbia and a location on Sunset Boulevard in Lexington.

Five Below is known for offering most of its items at $5 or below. The shops carry everything from T-shirts to snacks to toys to home decor items to skincare products and beyond. The company started in 2002 in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and has grown rapidly since. It went public in 2012, hit $1 billion in annual sales in 2016 and opened its 1,200th store in 2022.

The Parkland Plaza shopping center includes a host of national and local businesses, including Food Lion, Planet Fitness, Bealls, The Kingsman, Monterrey Mexican restaurant, Mai Poke restaurant , Capital Climbing gym and more. Knox Abbott Drive is a busy commercial thoroughfare lined with restaurants, stores, bars and more.

About 28,000 cars per day travel down Knox Abbott near the shopping center, per state Department of Transportation traffic count data .
