Almost a dozen roads in Greenville County remained closed Tuesday, most of them due to flood damage suffered in Tropical Storm Helene.

In the city of Greenville , a bridge on South Hudson Street was deemed hazardous by the South Carolina Department of Transportation and closed.. It is in the vicinity of Unity Park, Greenville’s 60-acre park beside the Reedy River.

All other roads are open but some are one lane due to debris piles, city of Greenville spokesperson Beth Brotherton said.

“There could be sporadic closures due to utility work or tree work with heavy equipment,” she said..

Greenville reported its contractor had collected 85 football fields worth of debris so far. Mulching was expected to begin Tuesday.

Power in most homes has been restored. Duke Energy reported 6,500 South Carolina customers remained without power Tuesday. Immediately after the storm Duke had 1.2 million outages in South Carolina .

Bob Mihalic, spokesman for Greenville County, reported these roads remained closed Tuesday:

Sharon Drive, Neely Mill Road, Honeysuckle Road, Chick Springs Road between Old Rutherford and St. Mark and Smith Circle in Fountain Inn.

He said the roads were washed out or had other severe damage. There was no timeline yet for repair.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation reported portions of these roads remained closed:

Ikes Road and East Darby Road, both in Taylors, Greer Highway in Cleveland and Taylors Road in Greer.
