Head’s up, chicken sandwich fans. A busy Chick-fil-A restaurant in northeast Columbia plans to temporarily close for remodeling.

The Chick-fil-A at 405 Killian Road will close at 3 p.m. Oct. 17 for renovations, according to social media posts from the restaurant. The remodel will last for a few weeks and the restaurant plans to reopen the week of Nov. 11, per the social media posts.

The Killian Road Chick-fil-A is in the Killian’s Crossing area that is home to a number of businesses, including Kroger, Chipotle, Starbucks and many others. It’s in a high-traffic area just east of Interstate 77, and about 38,000 cars per day travel down that section of Killian Road, per state Department of Transportation data.

Chick-fil-A has more than a dozen locations in the Midlands, and many of them have gone through improvements, moves, remodels and other upgrades in the last couple years.

For example, the Chick-fil-A at 2299 Augusta Road in West Columbia reopened in May 2023 after being closed for three months for a remodeling. And the Chick-fil-A at 294 Harbison Blvd., which was torn down in 2022, was rebuilt and reopened in March 2023.

The Chick-fil-A on Dutch Fork Road was closed for remodeling and reopened in late June 2023 .

Also, the Chick-fil-A at 10136 Two Notch Road was demolished in 2023 and a new version of the restaurant was built back on the site.

In 2022 the Chick-fil-A at 2600 Decker Blvd. closed and moved to 7515 Two Notch Road, near Interstate 20. And a new Chick-fil-A opened in March 2022 at 5465 Platt Springs Road near Red Bank. Meanwhile, the Chick-fil-A at 5440 Forest Drive was torn down in November 2023 and a new version of the eatery was reopened on the site in July.
