A restaurant in downtown Columbia that’s known for dessert, cocktails and a tapas menu will move from its current location.

The Robinson Room, 1614 Main St., announced Thursday on social media that it is planning to relocate but staying on Main Street.

“Robinson Room will soon be relocating to a new address on Main Street as part of our commitment to bringing you an even more elevated and unforgettable dining experience,” the business said in the social media postings . ”Our team is working diligently behind the scenes to craft something truly special in our new location, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to an environment that reflects our continued passion for great cocktails, ambiance, and community.”

The final day of service in the space at 1614 Main will be Sunday, Oct. 20, the restaurant posted. The social media messages did not disclose exactly where the new Robinson Room location would be, or what may come next in the space at 1614 Main.

Robinson Room is part of LTC Hospitality Group, which has a number of restaurants in the Main Street District and elsewhere, including The Grand on Main eatery and boutique bowling alley, the upscale Smoked, Hanabi Hibachi and Sushi, and Chapin’s 518 Smokehouse, among others.

The relocation announcement for Robinson Room is part of a recent flurry of storefront news for LTC in the downtown core. Its long-running Good Life Cafe, which formerly was at 1614 Main St. and had been at 1216 Taylor St. since spring 2023, announced its closure on Oct. 11. Meanwhile, the company recently opened the 1624 Bistro , a breakfast and lunch spot, at 1624 Main St.

Robinson Room was formerly on the lower floor of the Grand on Main. It moved to the spot at 1614 Main in spring 2023.
