Cam Appenzeller, Chatham Glenwood, baseball
The junior left-handed pitcher supplied himself a cushion with a 2-run double in the first inning before carving up Mount Zion on the mound in an 8-4 victory in Saturday's Class 3A regional final. He totaled 11 strikeouts in five innings of work. He gave up two runs on three hits and five walks.
Jamarion Bardwell, Sacred Heart-Griffin, boys track and field
The junior traveled a personal best 46 feet, 1 ½ inches for first place in the Class 2A triple jump of the boys track and field state finals at O'Brien Field on Saturday.
Conrad Charpentier, Jacksonville Routt, baseball
The senior summoned a grand slam in the fifth inning to end a 12-0 victory over Delavan in Saturday's supersectional win. He finished with five RBIs.
Samantha Glecker, Rochester, softball
The senior third baseman supplied the walk-off RBI single in the eighth inning to carry the Rockets to a 3-2 victory over Springfield High in the Class 3A home regional final on Thursday. She also had a key RBI single in the fourth for a 2-0 lead.
Hayden Hicks, Jacksonville, baseball
The senior left-handed pitcher allowed just three hits and led the Crimsons to the Class 3A regional title over Rochester in a 4-0 victory. Hicks struck out seven and walked four. Hitting in the No. 2 slot, he drove in Ryan Luconic with a single to give the Crimsons a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Keenan Powell, Litchfield, boys track and field
The senior shattered his previous best mark with a leap of 46-8 to win the Class 1A triple jump of the boys track and field state finals at O'Brien Field in Charleston on Saturday.
Madi Rigdon, Williamsville, girls soccer
The senior defender summoned the game-tying goal from 40 yards away with under seven minutes left before teammate Calynn Frye scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 home sectional final victory over Bloomington Central Catholic in Class 1A on Tuesday.
Caroline Sheehan, Sacred Heart-Griffin, girls soccer
The junior midfielder posted her second straight hat trick and Sacred Heart-Griffin rolled to its first sectional title since 2017 with a 5-1 victory over Quincy Notre Dame in a Class 1A sectional final on Wednesday.
Meena Taylor, Auburn/Lutheran, softball
The junior pitcher totaled 16 strikeouts in a complete game and blasted the go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth inning in Saturday's 4-3 victory over Stanford Olympia in the Class 2A Williamsville Sectional final. She finished with two hits and three RBIs.
