    Top performers: Tanner Kolsto, Nolan Meyer lead Carlinville soccer to tourney title

    This is a daily list of top performers from Springfield-area high school sports teams for the week of Sept. 3-7, compiled from information provided to The State Journal-Register by coaches, athletic directors and team statisticians.

    Thursday, Sept. 5

    šŸŒ Girls Golf

    Izzy Hassebrock, Sacred Heart-Griffin: Placed ninth individually with an 18-hole score of 81 as the Cyclones finished third in the team standings at the 15-team U-High Classic Invitational at Weibring Golf Course. U-High won the meet with a 330, followed by Oā€™Fallon (331) and SHG (335).

    šŸŒ Boys Golf

    Bryce Cowdrey, Raymond Lincolnwood: Finished with a 4-over-par 40 to carry the Lancers to a five-team victory by one shot, 181-182 over second-place Carlinville at Shoal Creek Golf Course in Raymond. Carlinvilleā€™s Tate Duckels medaled with a 38.

    Owen Paluska, South County: Fired an even-par 35 and the Vipers edged North Mac 156-157 in a dual meet at Terry Park in Palmyra.

    šŸ Volleyball

    Izzy Reed, Pana: Notched 19 assists, five digs, two service aces and two kills in Panaā€™s 25-14, 25-16 victory over Moweaqua Central A&M to improve the Panthersā€™ record to 4-0.

    Isabella Tiburzi, Carlinville: Delivered 13 assists and six kills in a 25-23, 25-9 win over Riverton.

    Savana Howell, New Berlin: Provided 12 assists as the Pretzels swept Pawnee 25-14, 25-16 over Pawnee.

    Wednesday, Sept. 4

    āš½ Boys Soccer

    Tanner Kolsto/Nolan Meyer, Carlinville: The duo each scored a goal to come away with a 2-1 victory over Litchfield and win the Carlinville Kickoff Classic championship.

    šŸ Volleyball

    Rachel Becker, Springfield High: Totaled 10 kills to lead the Senators to a 25-11, 25-8 sweep against Peoria High.

    šŸŒ Girls Golf

    Kristilyn Levora, Carlinville: Shot 6-over par 43 to become the individual medalist at the Litchfield Country Club.

    Carly Armentrout, Raymond Lincolnwood: Claimed the individual MSM Conference title with a 93 at Edgewood Golf Club.

    šŸŒ Boys Golf

    Bryce Cowdrey, Raymond Lincoln: Won the individual MSM Conference title 9-over 80 at Edgewood Golf Course in Auburn.

    Tuesday, Sept. 3

    šŸƒ Boys Cross Country

    Liam Bettis/Brody Harker, Taylorville: Bettis and Harker finished 1-2 to lead Taylorville to first place in the 10-team Carlinville Early Meet at Loveless Park. Bettis crossed in 16 minutes, 24.70 seconds and Harker came in at 16:38.21. The Tornadoes ended with a team score of 32 and Auburn was second with 80.

    Kade Parker, Petersburg PORTA: The junior finished fifth in 16:07.5 as PORTA finished third at the Jacksonville Kickoff Meet. Quincy won the eight-team meet with 22 points.

    šŸƒ Girls Cross Country

    Brooke Zeibert, Rochester: The senior placed first in 19:40.92 to help Rochester win the six-team Carlinville Early Meet. Rochester putĀ six runners in the top 10 and finished with 19 points.

    Millie Schumacher, Jacksonville Routt: The freshman took fourth place in 19:04.13 at the Jacksonville Kickoff Meet. Quincy won the meet with 36 points.

    āš½ Boys Soccer

    Nolan Meyer, Carlinville: Scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others in a 4-0 win over Raymond Lincolnwood at the Kickoff Classic on Route 66.

    Jamison Nichols/Landon Kutscher, Rochester: Nichols scored a first half goal and Kutscher knocked in the game-winner as Rochester defeated Jacksonville 2-1. Kutscher got the assists on Nicholsā€™ goal.

    Michael Sevilla/Guillermo Hernandez, Beardstown: The teammates each scored in the first half of a 2-0 win over Riverton in the Four Corners Classic at Williamsville.

    šŸŠā€ā™‚ļø Girls Swimming and Diving

    Erin Turk/Kylie Sullens, Chatham Glenwood: Turk won the 200 and 500 freestyles, and Sullens picked up wins in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke to lift the Titans (142 points) to a triangular victory over Normal U-High (105) and Stanford Olympia (62).

    šŸŒ Boys Golf

    Tucker Maguire/Sam Schwab, Litchfield: Maguire fired a 1-under-par 34 and Schwab added a 35 as Litchfield beat previously unbeaten Raymond Lincolnwood 151-159 in a five-team meet at Litchfield Country Club.

    Max Fisher/Sawyer Norton, Williamsville: Fisher and Norton each shot 40 as Williamsville won a triangular meet over Auburn and Lutheran at Edgewood Golf Club in Auburn.

    šŸ Volleyball

    Izzy Lynch/Jada Leach, Pleasant Plains: Lynch chalked up a team-best 11 digs and five aces, while Leach recorded a team-high 13 assists in Pleasant Plains' 25-20, 25-23 win over Taylorville.

    Morgan Cowdrey, Raymond Lincolnwood: The senior setter compiled 17 assists, 10 kills, 10 digs and two service aces in a 22-25, 25-19, 25-21 victory at Greenfield.

    Izzy Reed, Pana: Supplied the Panthers with four kills, four digs, 10 assists and two service aces in a 25-12, 25-13 win at Vandalia.

    Mackenzie Mehochko/Becca Hill, Nokomis: Mehochko delivered five kills and six digs in Nokomisā€™ 25-18, 25-12 win over Gillespie. Hill contributed eight assists, three service aces and five digs.

    Reagan Campbell, Riverton: Had nine kills and 13 digs in a 25-22, 25-27, 25-20 loss to North Mac.
