This is what sickens me. He had to wait 5 years for his settlement. The city said they didn't want to pay him as a result of his actions. He WAS WALKING, and the city didn't keep the sidewalk where pediatricians walk every day up to par. my brother in law had a very similar incident, and he was a thrving 30 something year old nurse. he lost his license due to extreme memory loss, seizures, and a host of other problems due to the city's inability to keep us safe.

This may or may not be true, but NY doesn't own up to their responsibilities. They claim my sidewalk is theirs, but is my responsibility to maintain, o.k, but when THEY plant a tree at the curb and the roots grow into "their" sidewalk making it unstable, that's on me?? However, if this claim is false, I'm really tired of people who make lawsuits a way of life.
