The Strawberry Letter: I Saw It So I Know He Did It Too

Dear Steve and Shirley,

I'm a 33-year-old married woman, and my husband is 36. We met on a blind date that was set up by one of our mutual friends. This friend of ours recently got married, and we weren't invited because I don't get along with his new wife.

I'm a ride-or-die type of friend, so I warned our friend about this woman before he married her. She had cheated on her first husband, and she used to mess with my brother. She works at night, but she's not always at work. She usually takes a two-hour lunch break and goes to hang out at a restaurant next to her job.

My niece is a part-time bartender at the restaurant, and she said that the wife comes in a few times a week because she's messing with one of the cooks. She said they have sex in the office in the back of the kitchen.

So, I did a thing so I could catch the wife in the act. I told my husband that I wanted chicken from that particular restaurant. He said he could go pick some up, but I said I wanted to go in and eat, like on a date. He didn’t want to go, but he agreed.

Saturday night, we were sitting in a booth at the restaurant, and in comes the wife. She couldn't see me or my husband. I had already told my husband about her messing with a cook, and when she walked in, I pointed her out. He said he wasn’t getting into anybody's business.

The cook came out of the kitchen, hugged the wife, and they went into the back. I told my husband that he saw it for himself, so he had to tell our friend that his wife is cheating on him. My husband said he didn’t see anything.

Our friend was sweet enough to hook us up, so why won't my husband tell him that his wife is cheating?
