A Stockton restaurant has closed their doors forever.

The recent closure hit College Square Ssong's Hotdog at 1217 W. March Lane . The Korean restaurant in between the temporarily closed Falafel Corner and T4 closed permanently on Friday, Aug. 23.

The restaurant was known for their "Korean corn dogs" which were battered, deep-fried and sugared.

"They're sweet and salty and completely delicious," Ssong's Hotdog Stockton Facebook page states in its bio.

From a Mozzarella Cheese Stick, to a Spicy Sausage Hotdog and a Seaweed Spring Roll Stick menu items at Ssong's Hotdog ranged in flavors.

"Ssong’s Hotdog is named after Ms. Ssong, who took the ordinary hotdogs and corndogs to the next new level. Our hotdogs are not just ordinary hot dogs or corndogs that you see at restaurants, amusement parks or festivals," the Ssong's Hotdog website states. "They come in different sizes, shapes, and flavors and use regular, premium, and spicy sausages with a long list of other food items like string cheese, mozzarella cheese, and many others."

Ssong's Hotdog only California location closes

Stockton's Ssong's Hotdog location was the only restaurant in California, according to the restaurant's website.

Ssong's Hotdog locations include Texas, Missouri, Maryland, Georgia, to branch stores in " branch stores in Japan, China, and Vietnam ."

Stockton's location closure was attributed to "tough economic conditions."

"We regret to announce that Ssong’s Hotdog will be closing its doors on August 23, 2024. Our goal was to bring something fun and new to the Stockton community. However, due to the tough economic conditions (rent, utilities, etc.), we can no longer continue operating," Ssong's Hotdog Stockton stated in a Facebook post on July 17. "We sincerely thank all our wonderful customers for their support over the past three years."
