The Alexandria Place and Lincoln Road intersection near Lincoln High School will be closed to traffic for repairs from Sept. 28 through Oct. 7, a city release said.

Both roads will be closed at the intersection, and construction is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, the release said.

Drivers can use Hammer Lane and Pershing Avenue to reach destinations on or near Alexandria Place. Drivers headed to homes on Lincoln Road will be directed to Hammer and Pershing or to Benjamin Holt Drive, the release said.

"Please watch for detour signs, anticipate delays, and drive carefully," it stated.

Daily Lincoln High student pickups and drop-offs should not be affected, as students' fall break is scheduled for Sept. 30 to Oct. 7, and Sept. 28 and 29 are weekend days.

The roadwork will involve "emergency repairs to replace a large sewer pipe," the city release stated. Swenson Golf Course will remain open, according to city officials.
