DANBURY — North Stokes’ Rori Long says one of the best things about her is her unique personality and outstanding sense of humor. She loves the North Stokes community where everyone knows each other, and it also has the nature aspect with the mountains and woods.
She is looking forward to finishing her senior year strong before moving onto college next fall. Rori also loves the fact that the people in the school can have close-knit relationships with her peers and professors.
Long enjoys entomology, nature hikes and reading. One of the hardest lessons she has learned is procrastination can cause things to be harder than you think.
Rori plays tennis and softball for the Vikings. What motivates her is her teammates and her parents. They push her during games and keep Long at her best, and her coaches who push Rori in practice to help make her better.
She has earned All-Conference in tennis for two years, and honorable mention All-Conference for one.
Long is a member of the Interact Club, Amnesty International, Ruritan National, A-B Honor Roll, and plays travel softball for the Surry Cyclones.
She plans to attend a four-year university and major in zoology or environmental biology with the hopes of continuing to play sports.
