Tickets and sponsorships are available for the 2024 Masquerade for Mutts Gala benefit for the Friends of Stokes Shelter.

The event will be held Oct. 26 at Luna's Trail Farm & Event Center in Westfield.

This year's theme is a masquerade ball — masks will be available or bring your own.

The evening promises great food, music and fellowship to those who attend, with the ultimate goal of saving the lives of as many homeless cats and dogs as possible.

"We plan on just having a lot of fun," said Renea Brown, FOSS services manager.

The organization has a lot to celebrate. Since opening in 2020, nearly 1,500 animals have been saved, a number that keeps climbing.

"This year we want people that have adopted from us or volunteer and help us to get involved and let us know about their adoption experience or their volunteering experience," Brown said.

The annual gala is the largest fundraiser for the no-kill animal adoption center, which relies 100% on private donations.

"Every single penny goes toward the center itself," Brown said.

The FOSS adoption center takes pets from the Stokes County Animal Shelter and finds them "fur-ever" homes.

(The adoption center and county shelter are separate organizations).

As in previous years, silent and live auctions will be featured at the gala as a fun way of raising more money to help keep the adoption center's doors open and lights on.

This year, the silent auction will go live online starting a week before the gala.

"We're really excited about that part," Brown said. "We can get more people involved with it being online. Some people may not want to come to the event but would love to have the items we're going to auction off."

The silent auction will end the night of the gala. To place a bid, visit https://airauctioneer.com/2024-masquerade-for-mutts — Items will also have a "buy it now" option.

Though bidding won't start until Oct. 19 at 6 p.m., items are already listed on the site.

A live auction at the gala will feature even more great items that have been donated: vouchers for a hot air balloon ride and zip-lining; a week's stay at the beach; furniture, art work, a stay at a local RV park, restaurant gift certificates.

The party starts at 5 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and a live auction starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $125 for one or $200 for a pair and include dinner, drink tickets and photo booth tickets.

Rayson Winery has sponsored the wine and Midsummer Brewing has sponsored the beer.

Sponsorships are also available at three different rates:
