    It’s fall festival time! Here’s your guide to 29 events in the Myrtle Beach, SC area this autumn

    With kids back in school and summer tourists gone, the Grand Strand begins to slow down after Labor Day. As crowds ease and temperatures cool, the fall season is the perfect time to check out beloved local festivals and iconic events in the Myrtle Beach area.

    From dancing to cars to food, there’s something for everyone this fall festival season. Check out these events, rallies and festivals you won’t want to miss this September and October.

    Mustang Week

    Sept. 2-7

    Billed the largest gathering of Ford Mustangs by organizers, thousands of owners and enthusiasts will come together for a car show, live music and games around the Grand Strand. Events will be held at venues like the Hangout, Suck Bang Blow, K1 Speed and the Myrtle Beach Mall. Check out the full schedule here .

    Art in Common

    Sept. 7-8

    The Seacoast Artists Guild hosts its annual Art in Common show in Valor Park in Market Common. Visitors can browse and shop unique pieces from local artists.

    SOS Fall Migration

    Sept. 12-22

    The Society of Stranders will celebrate South Carolina’s iconic swing dance the Shag in its 10-day Fall Migration . Shaggers will gather for block parties and dancing in lounges like Fat Harold’s Beach Club and the OD Arcade and Lounge.

    iLove Seafood Fest

    Sept. 14

    A must-visit for seafood lovers, the iLove Seafood Fest at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place in Myrtle Beach offers all kinds of fresh seafood, live music, cooking demonstrations and local vendors. The outdoor festival will continue rain or shine and general admission is free, though VIP tickets are available for purchase.

    Conway Burger Week

    Sept. 14-22

    Some of Conway’s best restaurants will offer unique burgers curated by “Conway’s Patty Chefs” for a limited time during Conway Burger Week . Conway Downtown Alive will release the official Conway Burger Week menu on Sept. 9.

    Aynor Harvest Hoe-Down

    Sept. 21

    The annual Harvest Hoe-Down offers the chance to, “Have a big time in a small town,” with a parade, children’s entertainment, arts and crafts, food vendors and live music in Aynor Town Park.

    Funk in the Park

    Sept. 21

    Funk in the Park at Nance Plaza next to Grand Strand Brewing Company will feature live music, food vendors and craft beer. Entry is free and open to all ages, according to the event page.

    SeptemberFest

    Sept. 21

    Barefoot Landing’s annual SeptemberFest will have live music, activities for kids, raffles, auctions and more. Visitors can also purchase tickets to enter the Duplin Winery Grape Stomp , which come with a bottle of wine and a tumbler.

    Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival

    Sept. 27-29

    Connect with nature and check out the local art scene at the 49th annual Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival at Huntington Beach State Park. The festival will feature art from more than 100 artisans, local food and live music.

    Beach ‘n Chili Fest

    Sept. 27-29

    Chili connoisseurs won’t want to miss the International Chili Society’s 57th annual World Chili Cook-off at the Beach ‘n Chili Fest at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place. In addition to chili tastings, visitors can check out live music, vendors and a car show. Entry to the festival is free and VIP tickets are available here .

    Irish Italian International Festival

    Sept. 28

    The city of North Myrtle Beach’s 20th annual Irish Italian International Festival will offer street performances, food and vendors. Two stages will have Irish, Italian, Reggae and other live music performances. The festival will be outside on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, come rain or shine.

    Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally

    Sept. 30-Oct. 6

    Bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts will gather for a week of riding and reveling in bike culture for the Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally . Although the rally is scheduled from Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, organizers say some local biker favorites will have events before and after the official week.

    Vintage Market Days

    Oct. 4-6

    This October, the Myrtle Beach Sports Center will host Vintage Market Days , an indoor-outdoor market offering original art, antiques, jewelry, clothes, decor, furniture, plants and more. Children under the age of 12 get free admission and tickets for everyone else can be purchased here .

    OktoberFest at Barefoot Landing

    Oct. 5

    Barefoot Landing’s OktoberFest will feature live music, contests and German-themed food and drinks at participating restaurants and dessert spots. A $10 wristband will score visitors 10 percent off food and non-alcoholic beverages at certain restaurants. Wristbands will be available for purchase in-person on Oct. 5 and online soon.

    Surfside Beach Family Festival

    Oct. 5

    The Surfside Beach Family Festival on Surfside Drive will have live music, activities for kids, food and more than 85 arts and crafts vendors. Admission is free and, if it rains on Oct. 5, the festival will be rescheduled for Oct. 6.

    Water Lantern Festival

    Oct. 5

    Visitors can reflect on the past and look to the future at the Water Lantern Festival at the Grand Park Athletic Complex. Tickets can be purchased online and include a wristband, floating lantern kit, LED candle, commemorative bag, marker and playing and conversation cards. Food trucks will also be available at the festival.

    Harvest Home Weekend

    Oct. 5-6

    Brookgreen Gardens will feature fall family favorites like a pumpkin patch and scarecrow building at the Harvest Home Weekend . Kids can also enjoy a hay maze, free face painting and a variety of craft tables. The event is free with Brookgreen membership and included in general admission tickets for non-members.

    Cruisin the Beach Car Show

    Oct. 10-12

    Open to all years, makes and models of cars and trucks, the Cruisin the Beach Car Show at Broadway at the Beach will host all kinds of cool cars and gearheads this October. Registration is $45 and the event is free to spectators.

    Myrtle Beach Greek Festival

    Oct. 10-13

    Celebrate Greek culture, watch folk dancing performances and eat Greek food at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church’s Myrtle Beach Greek Festival . Visitors can also check out activities for kids, shop local vendors and tour the church. Admission is free for kids 10 years and under and $3 for everyone else.

    Art in the Park

    Oct. 12-13, Nov. 9-10

    Browse and shop art by local artists at Valor Park in Market Common. Hosted by the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild, Art in the Park features paintings, sculptures, woodworks, photographs, jewelry, pottery and more.

    Fall Taste of the Market Common

    Oct. 12

    Grand Strand foodies can sample the best of Market Common’s cuisine at the annual Fall Taste of Market Common . Visitors can purchase tickets to buy tasting dishes for $1 apiece the day of the event. Each tasting costs one to five tickets.

    Myrtle Beach Mini-Marathon and Coastal 5k

    Oct. 12

    Runners in the Grand Strand won’t want to miss the 13-mile half-marathon and the 3-mile 5k race through Myrtle Beach. Whether you walk, run or do a mix of both, celebrate finishing with live music at Grand Strand Brewing Company. Both races start and finish with ocean views in Downtown Myrtle Beach.

    Little River ShrimpFest

    Oct. 12-13

    The 19th annual Little River ShrimpFest at the Historic Little River Waterfront promises live music, street performances, more than 100 vendors and, of course, plenty of fresh shrimp and local seafood. Admission is free for kids 12 years and younger and $10 for everyone else. Tickets are available here .

    Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival

    Oct. 18-20

    Fans of live music can enjoy jazz and R&B performances at the free outdoor Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival at 1420 Carver St. Visitors are welcome to bring lawn chairs but not tents or beach umbrellas. In addition to live music, the festival will feature local food and beverage vendors.

    Loris Bog-Off Festival

    Oct. 19

    Generally made with chicken, rice, sausage, spices and sometimes vegetables, chicken bog is a staple in Lowcountry cuisine and the Loris Bog-Off Festival is the place to try it. In addition to the cooking competition, the festival will have live entertainment and hundreds of vendors.

    Georgetown Wooden Boat Show

    Oct. 19-20

    The 35th annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show will feature more than 100 classic wooden boats on display, boatbuilding, a corrugated boat race, model boat building and a regatta for children, knot tying, arts and crafts and food. The festival will be held along Front Street in Downtown Georgetown.

    Klig’s Kite Festival

    Oct. 19-20

    Kite lovers can fly and shop for kites by the beach at the seventh annual Klig’s Kites Festival at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place.

    Taste of the Town

    Oct. 22

    The 40th annual Taste of the Town fundraiser for St. Andrew’s Catholic School will feature dishes from popular local restaurants at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This year’s participating restaurants haven’t yet been announced, but last year’s spread included Fiesta Mexicana, Pho Claire Vietnamese Noodle House, Melt and more.

    Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam

    Oct. 25-27

    The fourth annual Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam will welcome thousands of Jeep owners with a car show, off-road obstacle course, beach crawls, raffles, nightly parties and more than 120 local vendors at 2501 North Kings Highway. Registration starts at $75 per Jeep and includes a general admission wristband, event t-shirt, car decal and swag bag.
