Update: SC woman dies in early morning shooting in Horry County. A person is in custody

An early morning shooting Tuesday in the Loris area has left one person dead, according to an Horry County Police report.

Tyronda Bellamy, 43, was shot in her home and died at the scene, according to an email from Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Police responded to a shooting about 5:30 a.m. on Alice Drive outside of Loris.

Once officers arrived at the home, they found the victim deceased in the back bedroom, a police report said. The victim had a gunshot wound.

EMS that arrived on the scene confirmed that the victim was dead, the report said.

Police said a suspect has been taken into custody, but a name has not been released.
