Trader Joe’s opening a new grocery store in the Myrtle Beach area. Here’s what we know

Myrtle Beach’s residents will have a new grocery store to shop at. For some, it’s been years in the making.

A public relations professional with Trader Joe’s confirmed to The Sun News that the national brand will open a new grocery store in the Myrtle Beach area. The public relations professional did not provide a location or timeline for the store’s opening.

The Trader Joe’s website lists stores opening soon, but a Myrtle Beach location hasn’t appeared yet.

The announcement proceeds much speculation by Grand Strand residents on social media about a new location opening. Myrtle Beach area residents have also gone to great lengths to buy its products, sometimes carpooling to the Wilmington, North Carolina , location to buy its groceries.

Trader Joe’s told The Sun News as recently as September 2024 that no location had been confirmed.
