With Halloween just weeks away, kids and adults alike are putting together costumes and making plans for the spooky holiday.

While trick-or-treating is an essential part of Halloween for most kids in the United States, the accessibility and convenience of trunk-or-treating have made the car-based alternative an increasingly popular tradition in recent years.

For trunk-or-treating, people handing out candy decorate the trunks of their cars and gather in a parking lot or field. Instead of going door-to-door around the neighborhood, kids on the hunt for candy go car-to-car.

In the Grand Strand trunk-or-treats are more popular than ever, with more than a dozen events hosted by local churches and businesses. Here’s a roundup of the trunk-or-treats around the Myrtle Beach area this Halloween.
