Is it time to fall back? Here’s where Georgia stands on daylight saving 2024

It’s time for s’mores, flannel and... changing the clocks?

Yes, that’s right. Georgia still participates in daylight saving time and this fall, we are expected to move back one hour. Here’s what else to know:

When do we need to change our clocks?

Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 a.m. marks the official time to “fall back” for daylight saving time . This means clocks will “fall back” one hour at 2 a.m. local time.

Which states don’t participate in the time change?

Hawaii and most of Arizona currently do not participate in the time change.

Although several states are working to end the task of changing the clocks back and forth, there hasn’t been much movement in terms of the Sunshine Protection Act.

Does falling back have any benefits?

Well, yes it does. And unlike “spring forward,” you’ll actually like the outcome.

When you change your clocks for falling back, you’ll gain an hour of sleep. So, bring on the extra morning snoozes and snuggles.

However, that extra hour comes with a couple drawbacks, one being that there will be less daylight each day. This will make the days seem shorter as we enter the winter months.

And if you commute to work, it will seem like you’re missing daylight each day. From leaving in the morning to arriving back home in the dark, the sun will be a distant memory for office workers.
