A Georgia lottery player missed the Powerball jackpot but still walked away with a windfall.

Someone in Reidsville matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000 in the drawing Monday, Sept. 16, narrowly missing the $163 million grand prize, according to the Georgia Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Reidsville Food Mart on West Brazell Street, officials said.

The winning numbers were 8, 9, 11, 27, 31 and red Powerball 17, according to the lottery game’s website. The Power Play multiplier option was 5x.

There were $1 million winners in Arkansas and Virginia , and someone in Texas won $2 million after matching five numbers with the Power Play option, results show.

No one snagged the game’s grand prize, pushing the jackpot to an estimated $176 million for the next drawing on Wednesday, Sept. 18. That prize now has a cash value of just over $89 million.

Reidsville is about a 70-mile drive west from Savannah.

To score the jackpot in the Powerball , a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.

The odds of scoring the jackpot prize are 1 in 292,201,338.

Tickets can be bought on the day of the drawing, but sales times and price vary by state.

Drawings are broadcast Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:59 p.m. ET and can be streamed online .

Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
