    Macon Beer Fest returns downtown with more than 100 options. Everything you need to know.

    Calling all beer buffs: one of Macon’s annual beer festivals is coming back to downtown this weekend.

    The Macon Beer Fest started in 2010 and is now among Georgia’s top beer fests.

    Attendees can try more than 100 varieties of craft beer and wine, listen to live music and check out arts and crafts and food vendors.

    The festival is run by the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon and proceeds benefit Pints for Prostates, which supports prostate cancer education and screening.

    Here’s what to know before you go:

    When is it?

    The Macon Beer Fest is Saturday. The event runs until 7 p.m. V.I.P. ticket holders will be able to get in at 2 p.m., while general admission ticket holders can get in at 3 p.m.

    Where is it?

    The festival will be happening in downtown Macon at the intersection of Third and Poplar streets.

    This year’s festival is set to have a hearty selection, with more than 100 varieties of craft beer and wine for attendees to choose from. Breweries are coming from Georgia and beyond. Here’s a preview of some of the breweries coming to the festival:

    How to get tickets

    Some have already purchased tickets ahead of time. If you haven’t, general admission tickets are available at the door for $50.

    V.I.P. tickets are not available at the door.

    Tickets are only required if you plan on drinking.

    What else to know

    The festival is open to anyone, and children and families are welcome. Pets are also allowed.

    Be sure to bring your ID in order to get in.
