    TSSAA football roundup: Ravenwood beats nine-time defending state champion Alcoa

    Ravenwood knocked off the nine-time defending TSSAA Class 3A state champions Friday night, beating host Alcoa 27-17. The quarterback tandem of Femi Babalola and Maverick Chance combined for four touchdowns. Babalola was 3-of-6 passing for 101 yards and a TD. Chance had 15 carries for 73 yards and scored three TDs.

    Teammate Jake Roberts had three catches for 117 yards for the Raptors (1-0).

    BGA 68, Webb 41: Kaedyn Marable was 17-of-21 passing for 288 yards and three touchdowns for BGA (1-0). Arnette Hayes had seven catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns and Ethan Kellum had 10 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats.

    Beech 38, Station Camp 17: Chelton Swafford ran for 194 yards and two TDs on 17 carries for the win over their Sumner County rival. Kaden Powell was 4-of-8 passing for 88 yards and a TD and ran for 47 yards with another touchdown. KaJuan Harris caught three passes for 58 yards and a TD.

    Teammate DK Williams ran for 68 yards and a TD on offense. On defense, he had seven tackles and two sacks.

    Brentwood 24, Blackman 14: Gavyn Nelson scored two touchdowns in the second half, and Jackson Allen returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown in the final minute as Brentwood (1-0) rallied from a 14-3 third quarter deficit. Brentwood junior quarterback JC White was 8-of-14 passing for 109 yards and a touchdown. Blackman receiver Jayden Guy caught three passes for 112 yards and a touchdown.

    Clay County 42, York 30: Nate Adams was 25-of-37 passing for 314 yards with five touchdowns and an interception in a win for Clay County (1-0). Nolan Adams had nine catches for 156 yards and three touchdowns and three carries for 51 yards. Logan Pannell led York (0-1) with 17 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns.

    Columbia Academy 42, MTCS 20: Montae Baldwin had 30 rushes for 227 yards and two touchdowns for Columbia Academy (1-0). Stephen Nieves was 11-of-16 passing for 185 yards and four touchdowns and Harrison Brownlee caught seven passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. Briggs Boyd was 6-of-9 passing for 113 yards and a touchdown and had 13 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown for MTCS (0-1).

    DCA 56, Ezell-Harding 6: Mitchell Carey was 9-of-14 passing for 227 yards, four touchdowns and ran for 50 yards on seven carries and a touchdown in a win for DCA (1-0). Grayson Scragg caught four balls for 136 yards and two touchdowns and Riley Biddle had five carries for 103 yards for the Wildcats.

    East Nashville 39, Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School 31: Hudson Holman was 14-of-25 passing for 195 yards with three TDs and two interceptions. Bo Bailey ran for 94 yards off 20 carries and had a TD.

    East Robertson 30, Liberty Creek 0: Kason Young threw for 228 yards with two TDs and ran for a touchdown. Cade Brooks caught five passes for 102 yards with a TD and had a 50-yard punt return. Caleb McNeil ran for 94 yards and a TD on 14 carries.

    Father Ryan 49, Overton 7: Joseph Derrick was 6-of-9 passing for 115 yards and a touchdown in a win for Father Ryan (1-0). Mason Bryant had two catches for 51 yards and Patrick McGrady had one catch for 20 yards and a touchdown for the Irish.

    Hendersonville 19, Gallatin 16: Cooper Jordan had 20 carries for 151 yards and three touchdowns and Caleb Sams was 9-of-18 passing for 157 yards with one touchdown and an interception for Hendersonville (1-0). Jackson Stroup was 16-of-29 passing for 233 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for Gallatin.

    Hillsboro 25, McGavock 14: Trey Hodges was 10-of-14 passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns and had seven carries for 82 yards to lead Hillsboro (1-0). Zion Puckett had two catches for 78 yards and Joshua Cartmell caught three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown.

    Loretto 35, Collinwood 0: Mason Tidwell was 11-of-17 passing for 316 yards and three touchdowns and had two carries for 11 yards for Loretto (1-0). Nicholas McDow added 134 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and Corben Reynolds caught five passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison Rich had 15 carries for 108 yards for Collinwood (0-1).

    Marshall County 25, Columbia 22: Tyler Thompson was 18-of-27 passing for 191 yards and three touchdowns to lead Marshall County (1-0). AJ Jones had seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns and returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown for the Tigers.

    MBA 20, Pearl-Cohn 18: Ronit Chandra kicked a 53-yard field goal with 12 seconds remaining in the game to give MBA (1-0) the win. Hugh Price was 2-of-9 passing for 86 yards and Brooklen Davis had nine carries for 72 yards and a touchdown for the Big Red. L.J. Funk was 9-of-16 passing for 138 yards and a touchdown for Pearl Cohn (0-1).

    Mt. Pleasant 37, Wayne County 6: Drew Bevis was 6-of-8 passing for 119 yards and a touchdown and ran for 68 yards on 17 carries in a loss for Wayne County (0-1). Sayler Skelton had four catches for 93 yards and a touchdown and Daylan Van Fleet caught two balls for 37 yards.

    Nashville Christian 33, Davidson Academy 17: Jared Curtis was 20-of-27 passing for 294 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 35 yards and three touchdowns to lead Nashville Christian (1-0). Zane Crampton added 131 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. Caden Stroud had 26 carries for 119 yards and a touchdown for Davidson Academy (0-1).

    Nolensville 24, Rockvale 21: Jack Dever was 16-of-25 passing for 165 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions as Nolensville (1-0) beat Rockvale (0-1). Triston Lithmexay had 13 carries for 78 yards and Oliver Bender caught four passes for 71 yards. Jaevion Elliott was 14-of-28 passing for 212 yards and had eight carries for 47 yards for Rockvale.

    Oakland 35, Independence 0: Tyler Creasy was 7-of-9 passing for 155 yards and two touchdowns and Craig Tutt ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns on five carries to lead Oakland (1-0). TT Hill caught one pass for 77 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots. Matthew Horner was 6-of-10 passing for 76 yards but threw two interceptions for Independence (0-1).

    USC commit Daune Morris suffered an ankle injury on the first play of the game for Oakland and didn't return.

    Page 28, Giles County 0: The Patriots vaunted defense did its job in a season-opening shutout Friday. Page quarterback William Wiebush was 10-of-15 for 100 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Cayden Aukerman had a TD reception while linebacker and Wisconsin commit, Brenden Anes finished with seven tackles, two for a loss and two sacks.

    Portland 21, White House 20: Portland (1-0) held White House (0-1) out of the end zone on the final two drives to stop a late rally by the Blue Devils. Avery Davis had four sacks and Shawn Sebring had 10 carries for 114 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers. Michael Albin had 16 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown for White House.

    Providence Christian 14, Eagleville 6: Kaleb Snitzer had 13 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown in Eagleville’s (0-1) loss. Noah Lilly caught five passes for 60 yards for the Eagles.

    Riverdale 24, Smyrna 14: Britten Judkins was 11-of-19 passing for 110 yards and two touchdowns in a loss for Smyrna (0-1). Tyreque McCarver had seven catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns and Brody Hines had six tackles for the Bulldogs.

    Springfield 34, Greenbrier 0: Jaidon Hurst had seven carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns and KJ Chatman had nine carries for 80 yards and a touchdown to lead Springfield (1-0). Kyler Slate was 10-of-14 passing for 54 yards for Greenbrier (0-1).

    Stewarts Creek 33, Tullahoma 21: Jeremy Smith had 231 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries and Caleb Floyd added 96 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a win for Stewarts Creek (1-0). Jerry Taylor was 2-of-3 passing for 23 yards and a touchdown and had eight carries for 89 yards for the Red Hawks.

    Summertown 14, Lawrence County 0: Jaden Stoll was 6-of-7 passing for 88 yards and a touchdown and had 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown for Summertown (1-0). Kaden McCrory added nine carries for 63 yards and Logan Love caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown.

    Summit 28, Spring Hill 16: Cordell Issac was 16-of-27 passing for 111 yards and a touchdown to lead Summit (1-0). Lionel Brooks had 39 yards on 11 carries and five catches for 15 yards and a touchdown for the Spartans. Dillon Pierce had 15 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown and Braylen Thompson added 109 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries for Spring Hill (0-1).

    Upperman 48, Fayetteville 6: Bronzden Chaffin was 9-of-11 passing for 98 yards and two touchdowns for Upperman (1-0). Ethan Palk had 10 carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns and Jude Fitzpatrick added 52 yards and a touchdown on three carries for the Bees.

    White House Heritage 41, Harpeth 25: Xavier Murray was 14-of-16 passing for 245 yards and four TDs in the Week 1 win for the Patriots (1-0). Cale Hunt ran for 93 yards on just nine carries and Dason Springer caught five passes for 96 yards and had two TDs.
