Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill soon might have a new starting job with the Green Bay Packers .

According to a report by The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Packers have reached out to Tannehill about a potential deal. Green Bay is in the market for another quarterback after starter Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain during their Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

In a twist, Tannehill could be reunited with another former Titans quarterback, Malik Willis, who had been Tannehill's backup in Tennessee.

Willis was traded to the Packers for a seventh-round pick during final cuts at the end of August and reportedly will start for the Packers in their home opener Saturday against the Colts (noon CT, FOX).

The report by Russini was refuted, however, by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Pelissero said the Packers have not reached out to Tannehill or any other free agent quarterbacks.

Pelissero added that the Packers are expected to move forward with Willis as their starter, anticipating that Love will return to action within three to six weeks.

Willis, 25, was a third-round pick by the Titans in 2022. During the Packers' 34-29 loss to the Eagles, he entered the game with six seconds left after Love's injury. He threw one incomplete pass, then was sacked to end the game.

Tannehill, 36, was 3-5 record with the Titans last season, throwing for 1,616 yards and four touchdowns. After suffering an injury, he lost his starting job to 2023 second-round pick Will Levis, leading to Tannehill's eventual exit in Tennessee as a free agent.
