Julie Chrisley is scheduled for another case hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 25 . The former reality television personality, most known for USA Network's "Chrisley Knows Best" has been behind bars since January 2023 on charges of bank fraud and tax evasion.

Her husband. Todd Chrisley, has been jailed at Florida’s Federal Prison Camp Pensacola on similar charges.

UPDATE: Julie Chrisley resentenced to seven years; 'Chrisley Knows Best' star apologizes, reports say

A prison records check, however, shows that Julie Chrisley may not be in prison ahead of her resentencing hearing. As previously reported by the Tallahassee Democrat, Julie Chrisley was shown as “not in BOP custody” as of Sunday, Sept. 22, with a release date of April 22, 2028.

In June, federal judges threw out Julie Chrisley's nearly six-year prison sentence after federal judges ruled that her case had insufficient evidence. According to a report from USA TODAY, judges from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that the judge in Chrisley's 2022 trial miscalculated her sentence and did not find evidence proving her full involvement in the bank fraud scheme.

"The district court did not identify the evidence it relied on to hold Julie accountable for losses incurred before 2007, and we cannot independently find it in the record," the judges wrote in their unpublished opinion.

Julie Chrisley is expected to be resentenced in a lower court.

Here's more on the case which forced the Chrisleys to go from a mansion in Belle Meade to federal prisons.

Todd and Julie Chrisley are former television personalities known for USA Network's "Chrisley Knows Best," a reality television program which followed the boisterous, tight-knight family. The couple relocated from Atlanta to Nashville's Belle Meade neighborhood in 2015. In August of 2021, the couple told the Tennessean they had plans of opening a restaurant and champagne bar in Music City .

In 2022, the series was renewed by the USA network for a 10th season, while the spinoff "Growing Up Chrisley," featuring their children, Chase and Savannah,, was renewed for a fourth season. E! had also announced that it was moving forward with a new dating series, "Love Limo," hosted by Todd Chrisley. All shows, however, were since canceled.

What does “not in BOP custody” mean?

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons , if a person is listed as "not in BOP custody" they are no longer in BOP (bureau of prisons) custody, however, may still be in the custody of some other correctional/criminal justice system/law enforcement entity. They may also be on parole or on supervised release.

Why were Todd and Julie Chrisley arrested?

In June of 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty on federal charges including bank fraud and tax evasion . The couple were initially indicted in August 2019 and a new indictment was filed in February of 2022.

Prosecutors alleged that the Chrisleys submitted fake documents to banks when applying for loans. They said Julie Chrisley also submitted a false credit report along with fake bank statements when trying to rent a house in California, and then the couple refused to pay rent a few months after they started using the home.

Both Chrisleys were charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud. Julie Chrisley was also charged with wire fraud and obstruction of justice.

“The Chrisleys have built an empire based on the lie that their wealth came from dedication and hard work,” prosecutors wrote . “The jury's unanimous verdict sets the record straight: Todd and Julie Chrisley are career swindlers who have made a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, stiffing vendors, and evading taxes at every corner.”

The couple's accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States and willfully filing false tax returns.

The Chrisleys spent millions on designer brand clothes, luxury cars and real estate, including two mansions in Nashville, approximately worth $9 million, reported the Tennessean.

Then in January of 2024, the Chrisleys received a $1 million settlement from the state of Georgia , years after they filed a lawsuit against Joshua Waites, the former Director of Special Investigations of Georgia's Department of Revenue. The lawsuit, filed in 2019, alleged that Waites had committed misconduct concerning his investigation of them.
