Southwest adds direct flight from Nashville to Memphis plus 5 other routes for next year

Six new nonstop Southwest Airlines flights will take off from Nashville starting next spring — including its first to another Tennessee city.

Direct flights from BNA to Memphis, Albuquerque, N.M.; Albany, N.Y.; Jackson, Miss.; Providence, R.I.; and Tulsa, Okla., will begin on April 8, 2025.

“The announcement of Southwest’s extended schedule continues to strengthen their commitment to the region,” Metro Nashville Airport Authority President and CEO Doug Kreulen said in a statement. “Whether you are headed up north to visit the capital of New York or out west for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, there is a nonstop option from BNA.”

Southwest announced its extended flight schedule out of Nashville International Airport on Wednesday following a series of other announcements around its expanded service in Nashville, including a new flight crew base in the city next spring.

Last month, Southwest released plans to add nonstop flights from Music City to Indianapolis, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. In 2025, the airline will also launch a series of new redeye flights, including one from BNA to Los Angeles.

Kreulen said Tuesday that BNA's efficiency and low costs make it attractive for airlines to add new routes.

"We're expecting over the next few weeks and months to announce some more nonstops," he said.
