Hot on the heels of the 2024 releases of their first holiday and greatest hits albums, Grammy-winning Nashville country quartet Little Big Town will host NBC's "Little Big Town's Christmas at the Opry" special on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. CT. The special will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.

The two-hour special, occurring in front of a live audience at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, will feature performances from Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Sheryl Crow, Kirk Franklin, Josh Groban, Kate Hudson and Orville Peck.

"We are simply beside ourselves to announce that we will host our own NBC holiday special at the prestigious Grand Ole Opry House," said Opry members Little Big Town.

"This is an incredible honor for us, and we are beyond thrilled to share this special evening with viewers and fans across the country. We've invited some of our dearest friends to join us on stage, and we can't wait for everyone to experience the magic of the holidays at such an incredible venue. After 25 years as a band, we're also excited to release our very first Christmas album and are thrilled to perform some of those classics during this special."

"This fantastic array of country stars will perform songs that are so meaningful and personal to all of us during the holiday season, and we're incredibly excited to share these intimate moments with our audience," said Jen Neal, NBCUniversal Entertainment's executive vice president of live events and specials. "Plus, to have them all gather at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House makes it even more special."

Little Big Town on the road with new music

Little Big Town's October-released, 11-track "The Christmas Record" was produced by another Grammy winner, Dave Cobb, and features interpretations of country classics and original songs. Its release follows the group's 12-track greatest hits collection released two months prior, highlighted by new collaborations with Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, and Sugarland.

Insofar as the latter, the end of October begins an 18-date arena tour with Little Big Town, Sugarland and openers The Castellows.

That tour will visit Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Dec. 13. Tickets are available at littlebigtown.com .

December's Nashville date will also be a performance homecoming for Little Big Town.

It's their first show in Music City since a sold-out 10-night residency at the Ryman Auditorium in 2017, which marked the venue's 125th anniversary.

"It's so amazing, that's all I can say," Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild told The Tennessean about those dates.

In April, Little Big Town and Sugarland released a take on Phil Collins' four-decade-old, top-10 American pop hit "Take Me Home."

In the first decade of the 2000s alone, songs like Little Big Town's "Better Man," "Girl Crush" and Pontoon," plus Sugarland's "All I Want To Do," "Stay" and "Stuck Like Glue" keyed to groups to a combined nearly 20 top-10 country chart hits.
