    Wilson County Halloween and fall festivals: A comprehensive guide with everything to know

    There are a lot of fall festival, trick-or-treat and trunk-or-treat events coming up in Wilson County that cities, churches and businesses take part in and draw hundreds or well into the thousands of attendees every year.

    Here is a look at some of the county's leading October events. And do let us know if we missed anything by emailing ahumbles@tennessean.com .

    Knights of Columbus Pumpkin Patch at Saint Stephen Catholic Community, 14544 Lebanon Road, Old Hickory: More than 2,000 pumpkins are scheduled to be delivered and will be for sale now-Oct. 31. Pumpkin patch hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m., weekdays and 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., on weekends.  Proceeds benefit the Knights of Columbus Council 9282 charities. Specialty pumpkins like gourds will be sold and a cruise-in with antique and unique automobiles is scheduled from 8-11 a.m., Oct. 19.

    Lebanon First United Methodist Church, 415 W. Main Street, Lebanon: More than 1,000 pumpkins are expected to be put up for sale to benefit the church’s food pantry and distribution efforts in Wilson County. The pumpkins are coming from a Native American reservation in New Mexico and should be delivered Oct. 12, with sales planned to start Oct. 13. Sales are generally held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through Oct. 31, but there is an after hours scan and pay yourself option. The pumpkin patch is set up on next-door property the church also owns.

    Lebanon Halloween on the Square: Scheduled 2-5 p.m., Oct. 27, at the city's downtown square with candy stations, costume contests for all ages, free hot dogs and a photo booth. First Baptist Church Lebanon at 227 E. Main Street, will also hold a car show from noon-5 p.m., with popcorn and food trucks. Classic cars, motorcycles and trucks with awards will be given.

    Mt. Juliet Halloween in the Park, Charlie Daniels Park, 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway, Mt. Juliet: 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Oct. 19. Free admission with costume contests, hay rides, petting zoo, inflatables, vendor booths and an abundance of free candy. More than 10,000 were estimated last year, Mt. Juliet Public Information Officer Justin Beasley said.

    Breeden’s Orchard, 631 Beckwith Road, Mt. Juliet: The 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat is a collaboration with first responders on Oct. 26. Fire trucks, ambulances, police K9s and Tennessee Department of Transportation rescue trucks are scheduled to participate in the free event hosted by Breeden’s Orchard and the Wilson County Firefighters Association with candy stations set up throughout. General public entry will be 6-8 p.m. A 4:30 p.m. time is reserved for sensory and special needs children and ages 2-under can attend at 5:30 p.m. Firefighters will also accept donations for Operation Warm, which collects and distributes winter coats to children in need within Wilson County.

    Wilson Bank & Trust Oktoberfest, 623 W. Main Street in Lebanon: Scheduled at 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday Oct. 19, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20. Food trucks, live entertainments, cookie decorating, specialty vendors with demonstrations and exhibits, games and inflatables for kids and more over the weekend. Saturday will include a chili cookoff, decorated pumpkin contest and TV tent for a football watch party. An antique car show on Sunday.

    Watertown Trick-or-Treat on the Square: Candy will be handed out by local businesses and costume contests are planned starting at 6 p.m., Oct. 31.

    Watertown First Baptist Church, 207 W. Main Street: The church, within walking distance of the square, offers a trunk-or-treat at 5-7 p.m., Oct. 31.

    Friendship Community Church, Candy Cruise-In, 15285 Lebanon Road, Old Hickory: Popular drive-thru trick-or-treat event that can bring in more than 200 vehicles through different set-ups on the walkway is at 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30.

    Love's Way Church Fall Festival, 1315 Murfreesboro Road, Lebanon (site of future campus): Praise and worship, inflatables, hayrides, chili cook-off, roast your own hot dog and marshmallow, candy for children and volleyball and capture the flag games for adults at 5:30-8:30 p.m., Oct. 31.

    109 Church of Christ, 3320 Highway 109, Lebanon: The church will hold its annual trunk-or-treat at 5-8 p.m., Oct. 27, with free candy, games and dinner.

    The Glade Church, 9000 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Mt. Juliet: Trunk-or-Treat with candy and photo opportunities in the back parking lot at 3-5 p.m., Oct. 27. Early access for families with special needs will start at 2:30 p.m.

    Immanuel Baptist Church, 214 Castle Heights Ave., Lebanon: Fall Festival for the community is scheduled at 4-6 p.m., Oct. 27, with trunk or treating, games, inflatables and food.

    Maple Hill Church of Christ, 102 Maple Hill Road, Lebanon: An estimated 1,200 from the community attended last year with a trunk-or-treat that can have 40-60 vehicles set up scheduled at 6-7:30 p.m., Oct. 26. Food and hayrides are also part of the event.

    First Baptist Mt. Juliet, 735 N. Mt. Juliet Road: Fall Fest will be held 3-5 p.m., Oct. 20 at the the church located at 735 N. Mt. Juliet Road. Carnival rides, trunk-or-treat, slides, car show, face painting, food trucks and more.

    Silver Springs Baptist Church, 9938 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet: Reformation Day Festival at 5:30 pm., Oct. 26. Free food, games, petting zoo, dunking booth and candy for youth. The community is invited.

    Joy Church, 10085 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet: A fall festival is scheduled at 3-5:30 p.m., Oct. 27 on campus with outdoor games, an arcade and indoor activities that will include games, prizes and music.

    Neighborhood trick-or-treating, football Halloween night

    Mt. Juliet Police Department Deputy Chief Tyler Chandler described “an all-out MJ trick-or-treating event in all of our neighborhoods," which is similar in many Lebanon neighborhoods.

    This year, high school football is part of Halloween night activities, which will include the Mayor’s Cup Football Game between Mt. Juliet at Green Hill high schools at 7 p.m., Oct. 31.

    Lebanon High School will also play at home against Gallatin and Wilson Central will travel to Cookeville. on Thursday. Watertown plays on Friday.

    The TSSAA scheduled teams that played Friday night on the final week of the regular season in 2023 will swap and play Thursday this year, which falls on Halloween.
