Strict security measures in place in Miami

    By Bryan West, Nashville Tennessean,

Strict security measures are in place as Taylor Swift takes the stage in Miami, Florida!!! Important information ticketholders and non-ticketholders need to know below. Companies get swept up in Swift fever and fans travel to the Eras Tour concert by planes, trains and automobiles. Play ball! The singer brings date night with Travis Kelce to another sport. A skyscraper sized poster of Miss Americana is going up in one of her final American cities. And what in the slithering snake purse is leading fans to — yet again — surmise Reputation is coming?!

Thanks for getting down to "This Swift Beat," a free weekly newsletter recapping the Swift news from the past week and looking forward to what's next. Sign up here to stay lightning on your feet.

    Miami, Florida!!!

You can beat the heat if you beat the charges at Hard Rock Stadium this weekend. Tonight the Eras Tour returns to the stage in Florida!!! Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun.

The merchandise store on property was open to non-ticketholders on Wednesday and Thursday, but the arena is now secure as more safety protocols are in place. The arena is putting its foot down on moving fans along who don't have a ticket to one of Swift's three nights in Miami Gardens. A prepaid parking pass and concert ticket are required for those looking to park onsite.

"There are NO listening areas outside the stadium for people without concert tickets," the website states. Layers of security perimeters and ticket checkpoints will be in place double checking ticket holders. "Fans will be required to scan their ticket as they pass through each security checkpoint. Fans should expect to have their ticket scanned more than once to enter the stadium."

    Ticketholders should know these times:

    • Parking gates open | 3:30 p.m.
    • Stadium gates open | 4:30 p.m.
    • Show begins | 7 p.m.

Although fans are still clowning for "Reputation (Taylor's Version)," I'm clowning for Florence Welch to appear at all three nights, to join Swift for "Florida!!!" like she did in London .

'Welcome to New York': Time to play ball

Baseball entered the Swift Universe on Monday night. Where do we draw the line? Football. Tennis. Baseball?

The singer attended Game 1 of the American League Championship Series as the New York Yankees took on the Cleveland Guardians. She was spotted with boyfriend Travis Kelce in one of the suites out toward right field. Swift sported a black cap and jacket. Kelce sported a black cap that read "Midnight Rodeo." Sitting next to the couple were comedian Jerrod Carmichael and Kansas City wide receiver Gehrig Dieter. Dieter's daughter Gigi posed for photos with Swift and Kelce.

Whichever Swiftie is running the MLB TikTok is hilarious. They posted a video of Swift and Kelce with the caption, "Taylor Swift attends game with her potential future husband in my dreams Travis Kelce. You two make me believe in love. I can't stop crying. Never change ILYSM #Tayvis." One of the comments from Shelby Tatiyana reads, "I literally thought this was a fan account until I saw it was the actual MLB page," to which MLB responded, "This is a fan account Shelby." 😂😂😂

Swifties take planes, trains and automobiles

Swifties are flocking to the concert by the hundreds and transportation companies are getting in on the bedazzled frenzy. Uber is offering Uber Shuttle, where fans pay $20 to take a Swiftie-themed bus from the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach to the stadium. The transportation company will also offer $20 shuttle rides back to Brickell, Bayfront and Fontainebleau when the concert wraps every night. Fans can book through the Uber app.

Southwest Airlines created an all-new Flight 1989 from Nashville to Miami, which featured a live mini-concert at 35,000 feet Thursday night. Swift collaborator and co-writer Liz Rose sang "All Too Well" from the skies. She also personally talked with and thanked every Swiftie on board as they departed the plane. Southwest employees handed out friendship bracelets and memorabilia cards.

Brightline trains is offering a Swiftie train from Orlando to Miami on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A DJ from iHeartRadio will pump the Taylor tunes, and The Little Words Project will be helping fans exchange bracelets. Each car will be decorated in a different era. The rail company added stops in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Fans will be dropped off at the Aventura station and then shuttled to the venue.

    A Swift update

1… 2… 3… let’s go b****! If you didn’t see the news (cause you were somewhere else) here are some headlines from the week:

    1. New book, new vinyl. Taylor Swift made a video announcement Tuesday morning that she is releasing a book and album exclusively at Target on Black Friday. The video flips through the book's 256 pages (2+5+6 adds up to 13). Her announcement day also adds up to 13 (10/15/24, 1+0+1+5+2+4=13). Swift also told fans she will release all 31 songs of "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology" on vinyl and CD with four bonus acoustic songs. Read more about the announcement here .
    2. Gigi Hadid's 'oh, hi' wave. Supermodel and Swift's close friend Gigi Hadid debuted her own Eras Tour hand gesture to the crowd during Tuesday's Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Hadid fluttered her fingers inspired by how Swift waves to fans when she says, "Oh hi," at the top of the Eras Tour.
    3. Indy banner at Marriott. A banner in Indianapolis is not only making Taylor Swift larger than life, it's making the superstar a skyscraper focal point of the Indiana capital. The massive banner is going up on the side of the JW Marriott (located at 10 S West St. ). The display is not finished, but it will be completed by Nov. 1, when Swift will perform in front of a sold-out Lucas Oil Stadium crowd.

    Off to Clownelia Street

On Saturday, Swift and Kelce had dinner at Torrisi in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan. Swifties lit up social media thinking her outfit may be a clue that the highly anticipated rerelease of her album "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" is coming. She donned a shimmering golden corset and skirt, and a gold chained handbag with an emblem containing two snakes and a letter "R." Snakes are the animal associated with her "Reputation" era.

She does love to use fashion to express Easter eggs. See her purse here.

I still think "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" will be announced on the tour's final night in Vancouver. Swift tends to embody one era at a time, with her Target announcement of the "Anthology" vinyl, she's still in the "Tortured Poets" era.

    From the West End

For the final section of the newsletter, I like to highlight a Swiftie.

Charmaine Brown boarded a plane in Charlotte, North Carolina, Thursday morning, but the Swiftie was determined to grab merchandise at the Hard Rock Stadium before checking into her hotel.

"I got on the plane at 6 o'clock this morning," Brown says outside of the stadium holding two plastic bags of Taylor Swift hoodies and T-shirts. Her bright red carry-on bag sits next to her as she orders an Uber. The super fan wore her bright red "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me" tee and "All Too Well" sweatshirt tied around her waist.

"I took my first picture at 11:03 a.m., and my checkout picture was at 12:09 p.m.," she says, showing off her recent photos. "I am so excited for the concert. I cannot wait. I hope Taylor knows we appreciate everything that you do for us."

Hope you have a great show, Charmaine! And to all of the fans lucky enough to get tickets to the Miami show!
