    Rock and Roll's biggest night is back as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation is set to welcome its 2024 class of inductees. The latest class includes iconic names such as Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, A Tribe Called Quest, and even a Nashville educator and globally renowned saxophonist, Jeff Coffin.

    The event will take place on Oct. 19th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Along with outstanding performances, the night will also be filled with multiple special appearances from guests such as Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and more.

    “Rock and Roll is an ever-evolving amalgam of sounds that impacts culture and moves generations,” said Chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, John Sykes, in a statement. “This diverse group of inductees each broke down musical barriers and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”

    Vanderbilt University professor honored as 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. 'Dreams do indeed come true!'

    Among the latest class of inductees is Jeff Coffin, a member of the legendary Dave Matthews Band since 2009 and a Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music professor.

    Coffin, who serves as an adjunct instructor of jazz saxophone, is internationally recognized and a three-time Grammy Award winner, according to his Vanderbilt University faculty profile . Coffin began touring with Dave Matthews Band in 2008 and officially joined the group a year later after the death of founding member, LeRoi Moore.

    “What an incredible moment to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with my Dave Matthews Band brothers!” said Coffin in a statement provided from Europe, where the band is currently on tour. “We don’t do what we do for the awards or accolades, we do it for the music, but to be recognized by our peers is truly a great honor."

    "I’m happy to represent Vanderbilt and our amazing Blair School of Music, and to remind our students that dreams do indeed come true!”

    “We are so proud of Jeff and the band for this accomplishment, Jeff’s deep dedication to music education, and incredible ambassadorship for Vanderbilt and the Blair School,” said Director of the Blair jazz program, Ryan Middagh.

    What time is the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall induction ceremony? How to watch

    The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

    The ceremony will air live on Disney+ at 6 p.m. Central Time and will be available to stream following the ceremony. ABC will air a highlight special on Wednesday, Jan. 1 which will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+.

    The 2024 class includes a vast array of 16 artists, musicians and other industry professionals who have impacted and influenced music throughout the years. They are listed below in their respective categories, as defined by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

    Performer Category: This category honors artists who have created music whose originality, impact, and influence has changed the course of rock & roll.

    Musical Influence Award: This category honors artists whose music and performance style have directly influenced, inspired and evolved rock 'n' roll and music impacting youth culture.

    Musical Excellence Award: This award is given to artists, musicians, songwriters and producers whose originality and influence creating music have had a dramatic impact on music.

    Ahmet Ertegun Award: This award is given to non-performing industry professionals who have had a major influence on the creative development and growth of rock & roll and music that has impacted youth culture.

    Who will be making special appearances during the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony?

    The 2024 induction ceremony is set to be a star studded event with a diverse lineup of special guests who will be presenting, performing and honoring the latest class of inductees. Performing inductees will include Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, and more.

    “Every year the biggest names in music, film and culture step onto the stage at our ceremony to pay tribute to the iconic inductees whose music has defined generations”, said Sykes. “These are once in a lifetime moments created that will be remembered forever.”
