Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins sits 4th quarter in Bills loss with 'a little soreness'

Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins did not play in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills for what Hopkins termed "a little soreness."

Hopkins stood on the sideline while the Titans went three-and-out early in the fourth quarter and during the Titans' next drive, which resulted in an interception, looking detached from the offensive coaching staff and players. He did not check into the lineup as the Titans ran the clock out in the final minute.

Titans coach Brian Callahan said it wasn't a coach's decision to keep Hopkins out of the game.

"I've got to check with Todd (Toriscelli, the team's director of sports medicine) to see if there's anything to that," Callahan said after the game. "I didn't get an update on that. But I'm not sure."

After a 1,057-yard season in 2023 while showing a connection with Will Levis, Hopkins has not had the same production this year, much like the Titans' offense. Hopkins has 15 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown in six games, including one catch for minus-2 yards on his only target Sunday.

Hopkins, who is a free agent after this season, has been the subject of growing trade speculation, with the Nov. 5 trade deadline nearing, plus the recent trades of veteran receivers in the league last week. Amari Cooper, one of those traded vets, caught a touchdown against the Titans in his first game with the Bills after being traded by the Cleveland Browns.
