    Crestview's Dylan Burge voted Ashland County Preseason Football Player of the Year

    Crestview football player Dylan Burge was voted as the Ashland Times-Gazette Preseason Football Player of the Year ahead of the high school football season.

    The voting took place from Friday, August 16 to Thursday, August 22.

    Eight players were selected as Preseason Football Player of the Year candidates from Ashland County and Burge compiled the highest percentage of votes with 33.1 percent (250 votes). Ashland's Tyler Sauder finished second with 20.5 percent (155 votes), while Crestview's Ayden Reymer was third with 13.7 percent (104 votes) and Black River's Jayce Hopek placed fourth at 11.6 percent (88 votes).

    Last season as a sophomore at defensive back, Burge compiled 126 tackles, had eight pass breakups, four tackles for loss, two interceptions and was an Northwest District Honorable Mention for the Cougars. As a junior this season, he is expected to be among the top defensive players in the Firelands Conference and around the district.
