    Vote for the Blue Water Area Athlete of the Week

    After a 12-week break, the Blue Water Area Athlete of the Week poll is back. Now we need your help to determine a winner.

    Voting ends at noon on Thursday.

    The most recent winner was Cardinal Mooney boys track and field's Tyler Lenn , who won the Division 4 state championship in the boys 1,600 meters with a time of 4:16.43 on June 1.

    Want to nominate an athlete for a future poll? Email Times Herald sports reporter Brenden Welper ( bwelper@gannett.com ) and let him know who had a stellar week. Please submit entries by 10 p.m. on Sunday.

    Listed below are this week’s candidates in alphabetical order:

    Mia Jacobson — Sandusky volleyball: Jacobson amassed 30 service points and eight kills in four games during the Bad Axe tournament on Aug. 24. The Wolves finished the day at 2-1-1.

    Rachael Johnson — Almont girls golf: Johnson shot a 39 and placed second overall to help the Raiders win a BWAC jamboree at the Hampton Golf Club on Aug. 23.

    Cullen Knuth — Cardinal Mooney boys soccer: Knuth totaled five goals and six assists in two games (both victories) for the Cardinals last week.

    Nery Vega — Imlay City boys soccer: Vega scored two goals in the Spartans' 8-0 triumph over Richmond on Aug. 19.
