The Historical Society of Marine City will be hosting a Halloween party at the WaterStreet Winery & Brewing Company.

The party will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23. Tickets cost $40 and will allow guests to participate in all activities at the party, including Frightful Flight, Horrors D’Ouevres, Creepy Karaoke and a Costume Contest.

The party is raising funds for the historical society's community improvement grants. This includes the society's Paint the Town grant, which provides funding for homeowners and businesses to repaint their buildings in order to improve the town's appearance.

"This year we gave out three matching mini-grants that help people fix up their exterior," Heather Bokram of the Historical Society of Marine City said. "It helps because if one house looks better, it encourages the neighbors to improve theirs as well and the whole neighborhood looks better."

The funds will also be used as part of the Historic Marine City Hall Maintenance Endowment Fund, a program the historical society manages with the Community Foundation of St. Clair County to restore the historic city hall building in downtown Marine City.

Those attending the party are encouraged, but not required, to wear costumes. Each ticket also comes with an entry into a prize raffle.

Ticket sales will be limited to 90 due to the size of the venue. WaterStreet Winery & Brewing Company is located at 218 Water St. in Marine City.
