Meet Me at Midnight: New Philadelphia High School has prom at KSU Tuscarawas PAC

NEW PHILADELPHIA – People attending New Philadelphia High School's 2024 prom experienced a slight change of plans thanks to Mother Nature.

Due to less than favorable weather forecasts driving a decision made around 2 p.m. by administrators, the walk-in and introductions were moved to the high school gymnasium, where students lined the hallways in preparation for reverence by family, friends and all those wishing to attend.

They then milled about the school grounds in typical high schooler fashion, socializing, and making last-minute adjustments to attire, before the prom festivities at the Kent State University Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.

The theme for this year was Meet Me at Midnight. Colors were navy and gold.

According to prom adviser Stephanie Jenkins, approximately 300 students we set to attend.

Prom court was comprised of Riley Harriman, Eliza VanArsdalen, Payne Wagner, Madison Wright, Leo Kochera, Preston Rieger, Zach Rothrock, and Jaime Velasquez.

King and queen were Preston Rieger and Riley Harriman.
